The Losi TEN-SCTE 3.0 Race Kit takes the dominant TEN-SCTE platform to the next level. With the TEN-SCTE 3.0 kit, TLR engineers started with the championship-winning 2.0 and refined its suspension geometry to be optimized for all track conditions. These refinements also make the truck easier to drive. Other changes include center driveline adjustability and the inclusion of parts that were considered optional on the SCTE 2.0 kit.

Features at a Glance:
  • Champion pedigree
  • Adjustable center driveline
  • 22™ platform Gen II shocks
  • Dog bone center drive
  • Many popular tuning parts included as standard
  • Lightweight, hard-anodized 7075-T6 aluminum chassis
  • 3mm shorter chassis
  • Carbon fiber shock towers
  • Hard-anodized suspension balls
  • Lightweight, CNC-machined outdrives
  • High-performance TLR® body
In Depth Features:
  • Champion Pedigree: The TEN-SCTE platform's extensive list of race wins includes the ROAR Nationals. The TEN-SCTE 3.0 kit builds on this heritage by giving racers yet another superbly engineered SCT.
  • Adjustable Center Driveline: The motor and center diff can be mounted at an angle or in line with the chassis, allowing adjustment of the power bleed between the front and rear drivetrain. Mounted at an angle, the power bleeds evenly front-to-rear and the truck will drive out of the turns harder from point to point. Mounted in line, more power bleeds to the rear, giving the truck more aggressive on-power steering.
  • 22™ Platform Shocks: Gen II platform shocks reduce overall weight and lower the CG. Machined shock internals, X-rings, TiCN shock shafts and aluminum bleeder caps provide a smoother, more consistent shock. The truck lands better, jumps better, corners quicker and has a lighter, more nimble feel.
  • Dog-Bone Center Drive: The center dog bones provide less friction than CVA-type driveshafts, allowing for easier front-to-rear power transfer. This smooths out changes in power delivery, making the truck easier to drive.
  • Popular Tuning Parts Included: Many parts that were previously considered options come standard on the TEN-SCTE 3.0. These include a chassis that is 3mm shorter, 22 platform shocks, a dog-bone center driveline, 15° caster blocks, hard-anodized aluminum suspension balls, a 2.3mm thick front sway bar, lightweight outdrives, and adjustable aluminum front and rear pivots.
  • CNC-Machined Aluminum Chassis: The lightweight chassis is machined from durable 7075-T6 hard-anodized aluminum and is 3mm shorter than the stock TEN-SCTE 2.0 chassis. The shorter chassis makes the 3.0 a nimble truck that changes direction quicker and exits turns harder. It also makes it easier to drive fast and lower lap times.
  • Carbon Fiber Shock Towers: The ultimate in performance and durability, carbon-fiber shock towers save weight and help lower the CG.
  • Hard-Anodized Suspension Balls: To keep the suspension links smooth and free of slop, hard-anodized aluminum suspension balls are used throughout the truck. They are lighter than their steel counterparts and the hard-anodized coating keeps them from wearing so connector fit is always perfect.
  • Lightweight Outdrives: Lightweight, CNC-machined outdrives are used throughout the truck. This makes the entire drivetrain lighter so drivers enjoy quicker, more responsive acceleration.
  • High-Performance TLR® Body: This incredibly popular body is back for the 3.0. Made from durable 1.2mm polycarbonate, it delivers all the downforce needed to corner fast and stay in control when flying down the straights. During jumps, air under the body is channeled through strategically placed vents so the truck is more stable while airborne. Finishing the body is easy thanks to its pre-cut wheel wells, bumpers and edges. About all that's left to do is cut the vent holes and apply the paint scheme.

Team Losi Racing TEN-SCTE 3.0 Race 4WD Short Course Kit
I built my SCTE 3.0 about 6 months ago after getting it because of how much I liked the quality and performance from the 22 5.0 Elite, 22x4 and 22T 4.0 kits I had finished a couple of months prior, and having most of the Tekno rigs also, including the SCT410.3 I was curious how the other only real 4wd SCT kit would compare. As I was expecting, this SCTE 3.0 has more in common with 1/10 stuff than the Tekno, but that makes it better in some areas on the track. It feels lighter, it seems like it changes directions quicker and accelerates a bit faster out of slow hairpins. The shocks look tiny after owning the Tekno for a couple years and seeing the big 1/8 shocks it has. I feel the TLR jumps easier or more consistently, but the Tekno is far more robust. It soaks up rough stuff easier and feels more planted on the fast sections. Really the only similarities are the wheels, tires and bodies as everything else is different. The Tekno is basically a 1/8 platform with a 4s worthy drivetrain which is all mine ever see's. I would be so bored with it on 2s. The TLR is fine on 3s, but 4wd short course need more juice than 2s.

I built mine with a Hobbywing XR8Pro ESC/ 3600kv combo, Protek 170SBL servo, and I upgraded the lame kit 12mm hexes to the nice TLR clamping versions, added the aluminum steering top plate, aluminum rear gearbox bearing inserts and carbon battery hold down.

Basically if you want the easier to tune and for most drivers the faster race truck ON MOST TRACKS, get the TLR, but if you do any big air, bashing or for some reason want a 4wd short course with a bananas Tekin 2650kv 4s system like mine and want something that can take a beating and never breaks then the Tekno is far and away the better choice. Or just be an idiot like me and get both so you can do both well.

The only gripes I have and reason I gave 4 stars was the kit supplied non clamping type 12mm hexes that fall off are sooooo lame, leaving the pins to get lost. The first optional part I got was a set of TLR clamping hexes when I realized what came with the kit. Well worth it. That and TLR still hasnt updated the 3.0 kits to metric screws and hardware, so now Ive got about 15 rigs that are 100% metric and one thats 90% SAE and 10% metric. At least I already had a set of tools from when I had my original 8ight T Nitro back in the day!.

Team Losi Racing TEN-SCTE 3.0 Race 4WD Short Course Kit
I own several Traxxas trucks my family uses for bashing and we love them. However, I bought this kit because I wanted to build a truck that I could use strictly for racing. I really enjoyed building this kit. The quality and fit of the parts was amazing. Instructions are well illustrated in a nice book and are easy to follow. All hardware is supplied with nothing missing. Screws were fine with no stripping. The kit does use a combination of standard and metric screws which was a pain but not a show stopper. Would recommend TLR go to using all metric to make it easier on the user. The additional bag of extra tuning parts was a bonus. The best thing about this kit is there is nothing that you need to upgrade. It is the total package in my opinion. I am extremely happy with the truck!!!

Team Losi Racing TEN-SCTE 3.0 Race 4WD Short Course Kit
Best 4wd SCT on the market hands down. Takes barely any set up, super easy to drive. Light, nimble, amazing handling. My favorite RC I've ever owned. Won alot of A Mains with this truck!

Team Losi Racing TEN-SCTE 3.0 Race 4WD Short Course Kit
This kit requires excessive tools as there are metric and UN screws and nuts used. Why one fastener type couldn’t be chosen is beyond me. From an engineering standpoint, it cannot be a need. Also, the 2.6x10mm screws on the diffs strip easily even with high end tools.
Not a review of its racing ability, just the engineering thought behind it.

Team Losi Racing TEN-SCTE 3.0 Race 4WD Short Course Kit
My first SCTE truck. I would say the build took forever due to not having the proper tools. I wasn’t expecting so much of it to be SAE. I quickly ordered proper tooling to work on it afterward. I’ve raced this truck a few times, I love it! I let my extremely experienced RC friends review it. It’s so much more settled and controlled compared to a traxxas slash or senton. It’s an awesome truck. I upgraded to the king headz motor and front diff mount. 7/5/3 diff fluids. Savox servo, HW EZ run SCT motor combo with a 4000kv motor. I did add a heat sink on the motor as one day it was warm on a hot summer day with a 14t pinion.
I would buy this kit again in a heart beat. I love it.

Team Losi Racing TEN-SCTE 3.0 Race 4WD Short Course Kit
Holy smokes this truck rocks even though this truck came out a while back no wonder they kept it the same it’s perfect all around handles like a dream and corners like a beast if anyone is gonna race SCT don’t pass this truck up because it will pass you up on the track parts are cheap if you break something and again it’s a really good truck from front to back good job TLR for putting this beast together.

This thing is a missle on the track. Handles like it’s on rails. Just set it up the way Losi says to.

Team Losi Racing TEN-SCTE 3.0 Race 4WD Short Course Kit
Only my second build. First was an Associated B6.2d. I have to say Associated has more thorough instructions. If I hadn't had a few races buddies that had also just built this kit, I would have made several costly mistakes as there are segments that are extremely vague especially if new to competition rc cars. My understanding is that 4wd SC has become somewhat of a red headed step child in rc comp racing so I guess that's why there is no consistency in the hardware, mix of sae and metric. That being said;the truck does what it's suppose to do...make me ?.

Team Losi Racing TEN-SCTE 3.0 Race 4WD Short Course Kit
The package came in from Amain Hobbies on time and well package like always.
Kit assembly went well, just surprised hardwares are mixed metric and standard but no big deal. Completed assembly with no problem wished they included tires tho on the kit and the clamping hex nut. Over all no major complaints. Now painting the body is always a challenge :)

Team Losi Racing TEN-SCTE 3.0 Race 4WD Short Course Kit
Had a blast building the kit , everything went together well. Only issue I had was that my kit came with 2 front body mount and no rear then it was a pain having to deal with Horizon Hobby not getting a quick response then to top it off they were out of stock of the rear body post so now I’m here sitting with an unfinished kit with no rear body post ready to sell it. I support business based on experience and this wasn’t all that great nothing against Amain but not happy with overall experience
