Team Associated SC10RS 1/10 Scale RTR Brushless Electric 2WD Short Course Truck
Just bought this truck about a month ago. The truck is very nice out of the box. Only two modifications are necessary for racing. Get rid of the terrible front tires. I boiled them for 40min, pulled them off the wheels, and replaced them with a similar soft compund tire that the truck comes stock with in the rear (Jconcepts Subcultures). Next, replace the steering servo. The stock one, while reliable, is much to slow and cannot turn as sharp as aftermarket servos. For peace of mind I replaced the front bumper with an RPM front bumper as on very seldom occasion, these trucks have been known to crack the front of the chassis in BIG crashes, the RPM front bumper/chassis support eliminates this problem. I've been racing the truck for the last month on our smooth indoor clay track and have only had one problem. One of the front threaded ball stud nuts backed backed out causing the front steering turnbuckle to fall off. I had an extra nut and reinstalled it nice and tight with some loctite then combed over the truck snugging down all ball studs and nuts as anyone should with an RTR (Ready to Run Vehicle). The truck is as quite as a mouse and stock, the truck ESC runs about 118 degrees F, and the motor at 158 F.

On a side note, lipos make this truck MUCH faster than the 7 cell 8.4V 3000mah nimhs I was using. I am now using a 2s 40C 5000mah lipo which is very nice. I would suggest this truck for anyone thinking about getting into racing. With a few small mods, (servo and front tires) the truck is capable of hanging with the best at the local track. The understeer many people associate with SC10's can easily be eliminated by softening the rear suspension and running a bit more toe in with the rear tires.

With a spektrum s6040 servo and a tire swap its a good truck. It does need some adjustment out of the box to hit the track. (+1 if you like back flips. -1 if you like to race.) The 3300kv reedy in this will put you in mod class and you wont be the fastest, but with the FT kit and your own electronics you can easily hold your own in 17.5 "stock class" with some tuning. In all, a very nice setup with some tweaks!
