The SC10 comes ready-to-run with a factory finished short course race-truck body, short course style wheels and aggressive tread multi-terrain tires, all that have been designed to look just like the full-size race trucks that run in short course off-road series around the country. Bought this truck over the winter with thoughts of racing it.. Needless to say I'm racing it and loving it.. I swapped out the esc/mtr to be able to run in stock class (17.5 & esc w/blinky).... Also did a spring swap and different oil in the shocks as well as 3000wt to dif... Truck handles like a dream and is very competitive. Nothing has broke and has been very durable.. Would highly suggest this as a purchase...

Marty, your only having troubles with the ESC because you have it set for lie cut-off, every time you punch the throttle it will trigger the cut-off if you are using nimhs/nicds

I was very exited to get this truck until the ESC went 1 minute out of the box. After checking the AE Forums it seems to be a very common problem, with no offer to solution, they simply insist it is your fault. I put my traxxas vxl3s in it and then the dog bone fell right out of the cups, i fixxed it with some small o rings. I am wishing i bought a slash. Right now i am not that happy with this product, if you buy one, at least get the kit. the electronics are poo.

All of my friends have Slashes, so I decided to get one of these. Much better suspension geometry and I think I got a later model because I have had no problems with the diff or anything else. A couple of little quirks are that the front camber was off from the factory, no big deal; and the ESC came set for Lipo so every time I hit full throttle it would trip the low voltage cutoff. Have about 20 packs throught it and havent broken anything. Great Truck!!!

I'm happy with my SC10, I got the rtr to have an esc for another car. No complaints about durability, I haven't broken anything yet. The only things I've changed to race in the mod class at my track were tires, and I shimmed the diff as soon as I got the truck.

Couldn't be any happier with the truck! I know a lot of people are anxious to compare it to the Slash, but there's not much to compare. The SC10 handles much better and jumps way easier than the Slash. That being said, the Slash is probably a bit tougher out of the gates, but the SC10 definately holds its own in the durability department. The SC10 is made to race, the Slash is not. If you're running on a track, the SC10 rips it up!!!

Yes A.T. you are correct.
The SC10 is a much better handling chassis and can be tuned to suit all tracks.
The Slash is much more fun and hugely stronger, but....
The SC10 was made purposely for racing, where as the Slash was built for bashing, and people decided to race it.
Horses for courses, the SC10 is a fantastic RACE truck.....

JUST PURCHASED MY RTR SC10 LAST NIGHT. BEING THAT I WAS ALREADY AT THE TRACK, I THOUGHT I WOULD TRY IT. AFTER 30 SECONDS OF RUNNING I LOST THE THROTTLE. I NOW HAVE MY NOVAK IN THERE AND IT WORKS GOOD. SEEMS THAT I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THIS SPEED CONTROL. IF I HAD BOUGHT A SLASH I WOULD HAVE BEEN RACING LAST NIGHT

Bought this car to race along with slashes at the track..and i was pretty dissapointed. First, their was something wrong with the differential shims..right out of the box. It handled great, but it just didnt have the same feeling as a slash. Also, it took one day to break about $35 worth of parts.. -//- Just bought one for racing against slashes..and im pretty dissapointed..It handles well..but it doesnt feel as responsive and fun as the slash. At the end of day, i ended up with a broken chasis and front arm. While all the slashes kept on running. :/

Required a modification right out of the box. Differential shims must be added if there's a "clicking or popping" noise under full load. This was realtively easy and the instructions clear. Once this was done, the test drive proved that the handling was superior and that the truck flies as if it has feathers. This is all negated, however, when the 17T motor smokes. I have contacted AE about the motor issue, but it sidelined the truck. By way of comparison, the same day, my wife and I ran our Slashes all day, in all manner of bashing. Just needed a brush to clean up the dirt before they went back on their shelves to await their next run.
