Team Associated SC10 4x4 1/10 Scale Electric 4WD Short Course Race Truck Kit
Bought this car at my local hobbyshop the other day. The car has so much steering, even more off power steering. I'm using a Team Associated 1015 servo and It turns very sharp. The car is planted around tight corners. One area where it isn't very good is rough sweeping corners. Backend wants to bounce around. Going to mess with setup to see if I can get rid of that. Powertrain is very smooth and has no problem putting the power to the ground. Won my first race with it no problem. Just corners so much better than all the other cars. Also the car is very light. I would recommend this car to anyone.

DONT Listen to the other reviews. Those guys dont even own the car....

Team Associated SC10 4x4 1/10 Scale Electric 4WD Short Course Race Truck Kit
Just picked up this truck today. It took about 5 hours to fully assemble. The biggest problem I had putting it together was, how sore my arms and wrists are from twisting the screwdrivers! Very solid feeling truck! I havent had time to paint the body or even take it outside yet... its raining :( . One thing that I read in reviews was that AE used lots of the same sized bolts, to me i would have to disagree. This truck has TONS of bolts and lots of different sizes! also the instructions do not say to start @ bag "A" and work your way through the alphabet. I know its kind of obvious but a little better direction for newbies would be great. Also there are a few extra parts in this kit that are nowhere in the manual, namely the "radio box". There is a center plate that you are able to use instead of using the radio box and strap plate for the ESC. Something else to keep in mind, if the steering servo you are going to use doesn't have an extra long cord, you will have to use an extention. Thats it for now, i will update this after the weekend of running it @ the track!

Team Associated SC10 4x4 1/10 Scale Electric 4WD Short Course Race Truck Kit
This is the first 4WD SC truck that I have bought and am extremely happy with the way it handles and especially it's durability. I mostly bash/race on a backyard track that is not groomed and has cement walls and after all the crashes and tumbles, the most damage I have managed to inflict on the car is on the body. I have bent the right front driveshaft and a-arms a few times crashing into the cement wall and was able to bend both back to almost stock specs. The plastic material that AE has used for this car is very stiff and can be heated up to bend back if you crash hard enough to bend it. I bought extra parts already in anticipation of breaking something but with 20 hours of hard use so far, it is still going with the original parts. People ask about the belt drive but so far it looks good....just make sure to check the belt tensioner so it doesn't get loose. It isn't the easiest car to take apart to work on because of the modular design but that is what makes it handle great in my opinion.

My only negative is that all the shocks were pre-built (which shouldn't be a negative) but they didn't put any threadlock on the screws holding the pistons and they will come out so you have to take them apart anyway to put threadlock.

I think Team associated has made a very durable car that handles extremely well and the only real upgrade other than a quality motor/ESC/radio is a good set of tires to suit your track.

Team Associated SC10 4x4 1/10 Scale Electric 4WD Short Course Race Truck Kit
got lucky, bought my sc10 4x4 from a main last week. took a good 5hrs to build. i put a novak havac pro sc esc with a ballistic 4.5t motor, you can make it fit with absolute minor ajustments. check out urc on youtube they exlpain how its done. took the truck to local indoor oval/figure 8 track, it turns on a dime with some tweeking from the factory settings, handls the jumps quite well and knocks slashes out of its the way. cant wait to get it on the dirt.

Team Associated SC10 4x4 1/10 Scale Electric 4WD Short Course Race Truck Kit
James your just another one of those guys who doesn't know anything about short course do you ?? These were built for 2 cell lipo's not 6 dummy . If you race you'd know that even 4 cell for bashing is almost more than ANY short course can handle but when racing at the track 2 cell is the MAX you can use with a 550 motor . The belt drive system might be great , belts for the most part are super tough and are used alot in 1/10 & 1/8 on road vehicles , plus the fact that a company like Associated wouldn't just decide to bring out something less than competitive than everyone for the hell of it . When they made it they had racer in mind not " LET'S PUT A MOMBA MONSTER WITH A 6 CELL DUDE & TOTALLY BLOW THE RUNNING GEAR IN THIS 1/10 SCALE TRUCK AND THEN WE'LL WHINE ABOUT BROKEN PARTS ". Do yourself a favor buy something meant for what you want to run . I like the way this truck was put together I can't wait to see how the belt drive holds up. P.S james I hear banjo playing is easy maybe try that instead .

Team Associated SC10 4x4 1/10 Scale Electric 4WD Short Course Race Truck Kit
Got it at my LHS, and all I can say is... ASTONISHING. Handles like a boss, flows like water, and the transmission system is godlike. Only drawback? Doesn't come with swaybars. Not that you really need them on very tight tracks. Oh, and stock tyres aren't very good. Keeping stockers on front helps to avoid traction rolls on high grip tracks.

Team Associated SC10 4x4 1/10 Scale Electric 4WD Short Course Race Truck Kit
Great truck! Handles really good on a short track without swaybars. I kept my truck stock as far as the shock oil and diff are concerned. Truck was really loose in the rear during practice so i put the optional overdrive gear on the front belt and that helped a lot. 6 out of 12 guys were racing these last night and we all were doing great. I was leading until the on off switch came loose and i had to fix it on the track, still finished 5th! If you plan on running on a track with wide sweeping corners, the optional swaybar kits will help with body roll there..

The only other 4x4 that was competitive at the time was a good driver driving the losi with 1/8 tekin motor/esc combo. Noone was racing the ofna truck at that time..

I love this truck as much as my rc8b!

Team Associated SC10 4x4 1/10 Scale Electric 4WD Short Course Race Truck Kit
I really like Team Associated kits. The build on this truck was a bit underwhelming because many of the components come preassembled. I personally like to build up a car from nothing but a pile of parts. I think it's funner that way. That being said, the build process was fun and super easy. My SC10 4x4 performs like a rocket and turns on a dime. Great for racing. My only gripe is the lack of sway bars included in this kit. You'd think that a truck designed with racing in mind that a set of sway bars would be OEM. Oh, and one more gripe I discovered just the other day; my front shock caps were not securely tightened as they came pre-built in the kit. As a result, my shocks unscrewed during a bash session and leaked oil. Annoying. Check all your nuts, bolts and caps when building this truck!

just a note to those who look to purchase: great build (fun) shock oil is aleready in shocks, shocks are built, diffs are assembled, tires come mounted, . i really like this kit it has been a fun build. im not much of a competitor, i like to go the track here and there but im more of a basher. i like this truck! 5 stars . my servo is a hitec 5645mg digital. .. and its amazing.

Team Associated SC10 4x4 1/10 Scale Electric 4WD Short Course Race Truck Kit
i have a TC5 factory team that i use for both drift and touring it is belt driven with thinner belts. i am running 5000 2c lipo's with a mamba max pro 6.5 turn motor and have not a problem with the belts breaking or stretching. (once you have the proper slack set in the belt. that are way stronger then you think i was leery at first about the belt in my car but after owning the car and getting in to the setup there is ALOT more that you can do in gearing just buy changing the belt lengths and so one with out totally taking apart the kit were as a solid drive shaft you have to take apart the the rear end. to me that worth it less screws to loose take out and so on.

yes all the vids i have seen on this kit are indoor but really if you put you mind to like we all do to make it better for bashing and so on. like bigger shocks.
if you took all the mods away, making it easier for each of use to drive for ever ones driving style take all the fun out of the hobby. yes that's my oppinion
not fact.

but yes i am a bit displeased with AE not making a kit off the get go with the better stuff on there. and spending more money then we already do in the hobby but you have to think they making the kits and improving on them as they go to better us like all the kits out there right

It gets its drive from the rear transmission...as before. The belt is just a supplement to pull front tires. Its not like the old belt driven cars that were driven entirely by belt. If you dont like it, buy a losi or jammin.
