Tamiya 1/35 Self-Propelled Howitzer M109A6 Paladin, Iraq
I have looked at this kit for some time and also looked a other versions made by other companies. I bought this one cause Tamiya has much simpler build then other products and usually have great fit.. Now the kit is great and the fit was good, but there are some inaccuracies to this kit compared to the real armored vehicle in service, but they are so minuet that most would not notice. It does come with some photo etched parts to include buckle for the straps for the fuel ad water tanks and some stowage( I really like that), I wish Tamiya would put more photo etched parts in there other model products. There was a little fitting trouble with the rear storage compartment, but nothing a little time end effort cant fix. The rubber tracks are highly detailed and the kit need little sanding. A great kit for the beginner or seasoned builder. One down side is I wish there was more handles and such that you had to glue on instead of them being made into the body. Also has 3 different decal sets one for 2003 Iraq and 2 for 2006 Iraq deployment.
