This is an optional ST Racing Concepts Heat Treated Steel Driveshaft Kit, and is intended for use with the Traxxas Slash, as well as the Nitro Slash. Carrying over design and material selection from the HPI Blitz and Associated SC10 universal kits, the ST Racing Slash 2wd universal kit features a large diameter universal driveshaft bone for more durability against the power of today's Lipo battery and Brushless motors, as well as the heavier weight of short course trucks and the larger diameter of the tires.

ST Racing also used the same carbon steel material for the axles, which features two sets of universal pin holes so you can get twice the life out of the same set of axles. The universal joints and joint pins are of carbon steel material as well and the pins features a "step" for the setscrew to have a flat spot to more securely hold the universal driveshafts together. Lastly, even the universal shaft roll pin at the end was not over looked. Carbon steel at the pin although strong will unfortunately add excessive wear to the diff outdrives, thus a different material was selected just for the shaft pin for durability and ease of wear on the diff outdrives.

NOTE: SPTST1953X components are NOT compatible with the previous ST1953 universals.

Biggest piece of sh*t, no instructions on how to put it together, first 2 minutes of driving the pin on the bug came out and stuffed up the wheel carriers, my BRAND NEW RPM A-arms. i can honestly say, Worst thing ever!

I bought these hoping they were stronger than the stock ones but they are actually so thin at the slotted end of shafts I broke one before I even ran one whole battery and I'm only running a stock vxl. Not worth the money or headache.

ST Racing Concepts Heat Treated Steel Driveshaft Kit (Slash 2WD/Nitro Slash)
Surprised such bad reviews. The no instructions bit is valid however it's not hard to figure out. I run them on my Nitro Slash with a modified 3.3. No problems after a gallon of use so far.

The components are indeed strong and built very well. The package however does't include any hint or paper on assembly and installation, which is *not* straightforward for any car. The differential hub pieces are to short in the diff connection, which can make them "float" too close to the gearbox and cause unnecessary wear and even cause internal damage.

The other side (wheel carrier) locking mechanism requires great attention during assembly, because its never clear enough if the pins are really locked by the provided screws. Loose one of those pins and the entire system is history, because they are specifically built with a small carving in the middle which is supposed to be in direct contact with the screw and properly locked.

I would look for other options if a strong driveshaft was really necessary (i.e. you have a really powerful motor and a 12V lipo).

No directions but pretty straight forward to assemble. Not really sure why everyone is giving bad reviews they have been working great for me!

Look like a normal strong design, but something is not right. It reduces my Rustler performance noticeably. The cup opening is too tight. Friction on dog bone is too high. Motor runs hotter than with stock plastic parts. STRC is great with non-moving aluminum pieces, not so much with movable parts.
