This is an optional ST Racing Concepts Aluminum Hex Adapter Set, and is intended for use with the Kyosho Ultima SC, SC-R, RB5 and RT5 1/10 vehicles. CNC Machined from high-grade aluminum, these 12mm Machined Hex adapters offers increased durability and precision compared to the stock plastic parts and are less likely to “round off” and loose grip with the wheels, while set screws on the hex adapters securely hold the adapters in place over the axles.

Stock ones changed shape straight away from over-tightening. These haven't really changed shape but overtightening again caused them to get to become one with the drive pin and now very hard to get off :)
