SSD RC SCX10 II Portal Knuckles (UPDATED!)
Works great. Extra ground clearance and the extra width makes a world of difference when crawling over obstacles.

I loctite the screws just in case but even after some hard crawling, no loose screws or bent components. Everything seems to be solid.

Highly recommended for a lower cost option than someother portal setups.

SSD RC SCX10 II Portal Knuckles (UPDATED!)
Awesome upgrade for scx10-2 axles! I only found one issue tho and that’s c-hub compatibility. Ssd says they fit most c-hubs on the market but I found out that’s not entirely true, thankfully I had a set of ssd c-hubs that I could use as I tried strc ones and they would not fit. Ssd with ssd is the only way to go if you buy these portal kits!. Also if you use these on three piece axles use the sad pro44’s or put beef tubes in the stick axial ones for the strength needed!

I am giving 4 out of 5 due to parts compatibility with other brands otherwise it would be 5 out of 5

SSD RC SCX10 II Portal Knuckles (UPDATED!)
I ordered the front and rear portals for my scx10ii and I was very happy when they arrived because it took a while to receive them. I installed the day i received them. Took a couple hours to install. I was very happy with the way it made my truck look. Went outside to test on rocks and the rear axel tube stripped out within 5 minutes. I was very disappointed. Tried to call customer service during business hours the next business day and left a message; still haven't heard back. So I ordered new aluminun axel tubes from somebody else. I am happy with the portals but you shouldn't sell the rear tubes in plastic. Until someone returns my call I will no longer order anything from amain.

SSD RC SCX10 II Portal Knuckles (UPDATED!)
lets start with the good things about these knuckles, they are reasonably priced and easy to install. You can get overdrive with just swapping positions of the gears in the knuckle and you get almost 25% over drive. The knuckles are low profile so they do not jack your rig way up. the gear ratio is closer to the stock ratio than any other portal gearbox. SSD makes a slick fitting weight that fits direcltly on the knuckle. All in all a great concept. Now for the bad news, the leverage added by the portal knuckle on the SSD housing at axle tube joint can easily spin the metal tube in the plastic housing and rip out the screws. The axle CVDs are weak and can easily break if the front tire gets bound up between some rocks. The last thing is that there are no replacement front axle shafts available from AMain, I was told to contact the manufacturer for parts. They have a good concept but poor execution in the design.
