Spektrum Firma 130 Amp Brushless Smart ESC. Like every component in the Spektrum Smart ecosystem, Firma Smart ESCs combine "plug-and-play" simplicity with the ability to communicate with other Smart electronics — together, creating the best-performing RC system for your vehicle imaginable.

Firma Smart ESCs do much more than regulate power. They function like a virtual engineer inside your model, providing a direct path to the vital operating data you need to reach peak performance. Firma Smart ESCs give you an extra layer of confidence that your electronics are all operating at their best.

With Firma Smart ESCs, you'll be better connected to your vehicle than ever before — without installing extra components that all work independently of each other. You won't need extra wires, modules, or links. A Firma electronic speed control provides a one-wire solution for obtaining telemetry data such as RPM, temperature, battery voltage and capacity.

Firma ESCs not only gather the data but also send it to your transmitter in real time, instead of only storing it for after-run study. You're able to adjust settings as needed to boost performance on the go. The Firma Smart single-wire telemetry solution has been tested for quality and performance by the best brands in RC. Their verdict? Smart technology is both simpler and superior!

Spektrum RC Firma 130 Amp Brushless Smart ESC
Purchased my first Firma 1130 a few months back, made a speculative buy, try it out, see what happens. It would either fly or die. System integration was an appealing feature, if it worked. It went into a Losi 22 T4, for racing application
Turned out to be a good choice, my initial concerns were that it wasn't sensored so had good potential to be difficult at low speeds with cogging and then potential for high speed timing errors. Neither turned out to be an issue, it runs smooth down to the very lowest rotations then there is very slight cogging. For my application, race use, I don't care and is one less cable and connectors which is very appealing.
On the up side, it includes a fitted fan, fitted leads, and is a compact light weight format. From the control perspective it gives good smooth progression with similar braking feel, making it very drive-able. Set up, either by setup box or PC is easy. PC (laptop) makes it easy to save and copy settings. Then, on the bonus side, it has great integration with other Spektrum product, they do play nice together. I configured it with SR6100AT receiver and DX5 Pro handset. As a driving solution this package works great. Another bonus, Telemetry is included, it happens by default, no need for extra wiring required. Plug it in, switch it on, telemetry is visible straight away at the handset. Looks like Spektrum send quite a lot of extra data, to and from the receiver, along the servo cables, which is a great idea. Integration seems to include the steering servo as well (S6240), if you elect to use the AVC feature everything seems to "join hands and sing together" it gives a great driving solution although wont be accepted for formal race events. Takes a lot of set-up time and testing to get it sorted, but once its dialled, its a really good integration. Yes, AVC can be shut off totally, at the handset. But on a casual day where stuff is not going well it sure can hold the show together for just a bit longer.
Firmware updates are a snack, installing them seems to be easiest by connecting direct to the factory thru a PC/WiFi.
I have just bought a second ESC, without doing a lot of extra research. It has gone into a Traxxas Slash 4x4. So far it has proved to be the same, rock solid, it just works. Sure has knocked a lot of wrinkles out of the Slash Truck.
