This is the Spektrum DX4C DSMR 4-Channel AVC Radio System, with an SRS4210 Receiver. The DX4C DSMR 4-Channel AVC surface radio system puts the power of a Spektrum 2.4GHz computer radio and the stability of AVC (Active Vehicle Control) technology well within reach of the most budget conscious driver. When AVC technology is in use, the first two channels of the DX4C operate steering and throttle. The second two let you independently adjust the amount of steering and throttle assistance AVC technology provides. This makes it easy to dial in the perfect amount of stability for different types of surface conditions and terrain.
AVC (Active Vehicle Control) Technology
Using sensors and exclusive software, patent-pending AVC technology calculates a vehicle’s attitude many times per second and makes instantaneous corrections to steering and throttle so it stays precisely on the trajectory you command. The amount of steering and throttle stability provided can be adjusted to suit your skill level or driving style. Best of all, driving with AVC technology feels completely natural. DSM - Frequency-Agile DSMR Technology
The DX4C is built around frequency-agile, DSMR 2.4GHz technology. This exclusive Spektrum technology can be used in any type of surface application. Its range and response, particularly in noisy 2.4GHz environments, are superb. It's also backwards compatible with DSM2 Spektrum receivers. Longtime Spektrum users won't need to replace the receivers they have unless they want the frequency-agility of a DSMR receiver or AVC functionality.*
SRS4210 AVC Receiver
The waterproof SRS4210 lets you add the advantages of AVC technology to any RC car, truck or buggy.* It does so by combining the superb range and signal security of a 4-channel DSMR receiver with an AVC system in a single, lightweight unit. Installation is easy and no complex setup is required. Simply bind it to a Spektrum surface transmitter that’s compatible with AVC technology and calibrate.
When the AVC system is active, the SRS4210 functions as a standard 2-channel receiver, with the AVC system using the extra channels to let you independently adjust the amount of steering and throttle stabilization. When the AVC system is not in use, the SRS4210 will function as a standard 4-channel receiver with any DSMR or DSM2 transmitter, allowing you to use the two extra channels for things like lights or gear shifting.

Spektrum RC DX4C DSMR 4-Channel AVC Radio System w/SRS4210 Receiver
I realize this is an entry level radio by most standards, but it was for a basher so the AVC interested me and I wanted to try it. Curiosity got the best of me and I wanted to see if it was a gimmick or how well it actually worked. I am not going to judge AVC as there are too many variables. My "average" rating is based solely on the hardware and quality. The steering wheel spring is not good in my opinion, -or- it has an internal binding issue. It only "snaps back" when moving the wheel full "lock to lock". Slow and precise steering results in the steering wheel "sticking" and not returning to neutral. Would have easily been a 5 star rating had it not been for that, which in my eyes is huge. Will probably have to return it. A shame as I love the menus, software, overall feel, look, etc. It was everything I wanted, minus its unforgivable defect. Returning to neutral reliably is obviously a basic function you expect of any radio. Trying to determine if I have a defect, or if the spring/internal binding is an issue in this model. Will likely update this review if I end up with a positive outcome.

Everything is fine but AVC function is really glitchy, if you need to turn it off the only way is to disable it using disable plug during binding. If you just turn it off from transmitter it can spontaniously turn on by itself.
The transmitter can be easily upgraded to work from Li-Fe 6.6v battery, just remove the AA battery tray, solder any connector and there is enouth space for Li-Fe battery (70x60x20mm).

Spektrum RC DX4C DSMR 4-Channel AVC Radio System w/SRS4210 Receiver
Used AVC functions on Mugen MBX-6e and LRP TC-18.
If properly set up on the remote control, the function works fine.
It helps fight errors and slippery track.
Very convenient to train with the function of stabilizing and gradually reducing the level of activity to 0% AVC.
On race cut off AVC by the rules.

Spektrum RC DX4C DSMR 4-Channel AVC Radio System w/SRS4210 Receiver
Bought this about a while ago and so far has worked really well. AVC is pretty much useless for bashing and don't expect to use at the track because most of the tracks ban it but looking past that the receiver works really well. Has exceptional range and feels really good in the hand. The menus and software is really nice and the model memory is a really great feature. The steering wheel spring broke on mine but they sent me a new one for free and it was an easy fix. All in all, 4 stars because AVC is basically just a gimmick and the spring broke but still a great receiver.

Worst Spektrum radio I used, its so bad I switched to Futaba... I had a DX3E for over 4years, I raced countless times with it at my local club and never had an issue. Now I wanted to have model memory so I ''upgraded'' to the DX4C... What a mess it is... First, AVC is ON even when its OFF , you have to plug a second bind plug to completely desactivate it while binding. And even then, it kicked on randmly at a race day which got me disqualifed... Then I bought a NON-AVC reciever, great, but for some reason it glitches like crazy. Im not talking like ''oh it made me lose .5 sec on a lap time'' no, Im talking undrivable glitching, my Losi 5ive did a sharp left randomly while at full speed and almost knocked out a spotter... Then I said to hell with it, threw the thing in the trash and pre-ordered a Futaba 3PV... Oh, and to make sure it was the transmitter and no the servo or reciever I binded it to my Losi Micro SCT, same thing. It runs great for 20-30min then it will randomly decide where you`re going... Even with fresh NiMh or Alkaline battery... Oh also, did I mention the SRS4210 reciever IS NOT COMPATIBLE with the Dynamite Killswitch for large scale truck????? Its the ONLY reciever that is not compatible , Dynamite - Amain , Amain - Spektrum... WHAT THE ? How? How is it possible the ''most advanced reciever'' with DSM-R is not compatible with A KILLSWITCH?! Please, keep your hard earned money and go buy another transmitter... Any brand even spektrum just NOT a DX4C...
