Install a Spektrum Smart LiPo battery and Smart Firma™ ESC in your model, and you can view vehicle battery capacity at a glance on the DX3 transmitter's convenient voltage level indicator.
ERGONOMIC TRANSMITTER DESIGN
The ergonomic design of the DX3™ transmitter provides a feel that any driver will appreciate. Its overall low weight allows all-day driving with minimal fatigue. The control layout is amazingly intuitive — the servo reversing switches, steering and throttle trim dials, AVC/steering rate dial and 3-position throttle limiter are all perfectly positioned to be quickly accessible when needed and out of the way when not in use. An easy to grip, foam-covered steering wheel also contributes to exceptional comfort and precise control that all surface modelers will enjoy.
DSMR® TECHNOLOGY
The DX3™ transmitter is built around proven Spektrum™ DSMR® 2.4GHz frequency-agile technology. The range and response of DSMR technology is outstanding, particularly in noisy 2.4GHz environments. It can used with any surface application and is backwards-compatible with Spektrum DSM2® receivers.
AVC® (ACTIVE VEHICLE CONTROL®)
The DX3™ radio system supports the on-demand traction control of Spektrum™ AVC® (Active Vehicle Control®) technology. With an AVC® system, you can dial in extra stability as needed to carve corners or nail jumps without backing off the power. You have full-throttle freedom over rough terrain, slick surfaces and loose dirt. When you don't want the extra traction, just dial back the stability and get loose. The DX3 transmitter's AVC system works behind the scenes, making hundreds of minute steering and throttle adjustments per second to keep you precisely on the line you want to hold.
SMART BATTERY LEVEL INDICATOR AND ALARM
Integrated into the face of the DX3 Smart is a helpful Smart Battery voltage indicator. Drivers can easily find out the charge of their Smart battery with a quick glance and once the battery level gets low, an alarm will sound (Smart ESC, Smart Battery and Smart compatible receiver required).

Spektrum nailed it with their assisted driving system. AVC blows the rest away, and I've tried as many as I could to compare. Radiolink, Flysky, Traxxas, and PowerHD gyros all do fine in one category but lack or completely fail in others. AVC no matter what it is dialed to, stays in composure and doesn't do any unpredictable tomfoolery. I've put this DX3/SR6100AT combo in a few other trucks to see how it works and its awesome in them all. I really don't rely on gyros when I am in full focus driving mode, but when I'm just cruising from one spot to the next its great to have. Honestly I've been very thankful in a few situations to have it on, it's corrected me on stupid mistakes that I would have never seen coming that could have been costly. The more expensive the RC, the more I find myself pretty happy to have the option of AVC (or any gyro at the least).
This transmitter is strong and has the basic settings you need to really just get out and drive. The range is further than I can see, it's comfortable to hold, lightweight, the wheel is a great size with nice foam. I converted mine to a Lipo/NiMH setup for recharge-ability and it works perfect with a 7.4v Lipo which is over the 6V operating voltage especially when fully charged (8.4v) but its worked fine for many hours. 6V NiMH recharge packs are all over the place to purchase that would work perfectly for this transmitter.
Good work Spektrum!
