The Spektrum AR637T 6 Channel DSMX Aircraft Telemetry Receiver features built in AS3X Technology, but now pilots can set up and program SAFE Technology to their aircraft. AS3X Technology (3-axis stabilization) works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of turbulence so you enjoy a sense of stability and precision that makes it feel like you're flying a much larger, expertly tuned aircraft. SAFE Technology offers an extra level of protection so that RC flying is easier than ever before. When activated, bank and pitch limitations keep you from over-controlling and automatic self-leveling makes recovery from risky or confusing attitudes as simple as releasing the sticks. Programming and set up of AS3X and SAFE is done directly from your Spektrum transmitter* with an easy 3-step forward programming initial setup. To use SAFE and AS3X technology with the AR637T receiver, the receiver needs to be set up with a compatible Spektrum transmitter. With forward programming there is no need for apps or cables to program or make changes while at the flying field.

The AR637T features full range telemetry with an integrated barometer to provide altitude and vario telemetry data without additional sensors. Additional telemetry devices such as voltage sensors can be connected to the volt port and XBus telemetry sensors can be connected through the XBus connector. It also features an SRXL2 port for an SRXL2 Remote Receiver to add additional RF path redundancy (sold separately). An SRXL2 port is available to connect compatible devices, program and update the receiver, and bind with a traditional bind plug or connect a battery. The AR637T is compatible and ready-to-use with the Spektrum Smart ESC for even easier one-wire telemetry data. Spektrum Smart ESCs combine plug-n-play simplicity with the ability to communicate with other Smart electronics – together, creating the best-performing RC system for your model imaginable. For more information about Spektrum Smart technology please visit the Spektrum Smart Technology Page.

The AR637T receiver throttle port includes Smart Throttle. When equipped with Smart Throttle the standard servo connector delivers the throttle signal to the ESC, plus the ESC can send telemetry data back to the receiver. The throttle port will automatically detect when a Smart throttle compatible ESC is plugged in and the throttle port will begin to operate in Smart Throttle mode.

No more bind plugs! Instead, a large bind button is used to enter the bind mode. All combined the Spektrum AR637T gives you more in a 6-channel receiver than ever before, so that you can fly with the highest sense of confidence possible and have more fun.

Spektrum RC AR637T 6-Channel SAFE & AS3X Telemetry Receiver
This is the replacement for the AR636 (now discontinued). The good news is it is fully programmed using a Gen2 Spektrum Transmitter (Tx talks to Rx, Rx answers to TX - instead of a USB cable/PC or cell phone/Bluetooth hookup). The bad news is that it comes to you as a dumb 6-channel Receiver (no AS3X, no SAFE - and you cannot (at this time 09/28/20) use any pre-existing AR636 *.SRM files from planes you may already have or want to download from Spektrum). These features must be carefully activated - after the plane is completely setup, flown, trimmed, and re-flown. Then you can start activating AS3X and setting the gyro gains 1 parameter at a time by flying, adjusting, land, adjust the parameter value, fly again, set the value, and continue with the next parameter (which consists of roll, pitch, and yaw). Then you can start setting up the SAFE "Self Leveling" features. You also get to choose Failsafe, Preset, or Hold Last default servo positions - after finishing setup. If you are an excellent pilot and don't need a gyro then this is the gyro for you. I'm a new flyer and want to learn how to fly my own 2m electric airplane. I was counting on help from the AS3X/SAFE gyro assist to keep me level while in the air - but with this product I will need to become an expert pilot first. Looks like there's going to be a lot of hanger flying in my future.

Spektrum RC AR637T 6-Channel SAFE & AS3X Telemetry Receiver
I replaced an AR8010T with this AR637T receiver. The AR8010T worked great but I needed AS3X (and wanted telemetry) on a biplane whose flight characteristics were challenging. The Forward Programming on my Spektrum DX8 G2 transmitter worked great with the AR637T! This is the first time I did AS3X programming myself (was already done on an AR636 that came with my Viper 70mm). A bit of a learning curve but well worth it. It totally tamed the characteristics of my biplane. I also connected one of the remote receivers (SPM9747). No reception problems whatsoever. Nice to have battery pack voltage, and receiver voltage called out during the flight. There's altitude as well but I haven't configured it yet. So far I love this receiver!

Spektrum RC AR637T 6-Channel SAFE & AS3X Telemetry Receiver
It's retry much everything I wanted in one nice small light package. Program from radio, no special cables. AS3X, Safe, telemetry like altitude voltage. Adjust gains as you see fit, 3 flight modes with proper assigned 3 position switch. So far so go, now see how it last reliability wise.

Spektrum RC AR637T 6-Channel SAFE & AS3X Telemetry Receiver
Big positive improvement from previous ar636. The AR637T makes programming much easier and also adds many new features.
I look forward to purchase many more to replace my AR636's
