You’ll never have to set charge preferences for a Spektrum Smart battery until you want to. When a Spektrum Smart LiPo battery is connected to a Spektrum Smart charger, unique parameters and health of that Smart LiPo battery upload from the Smart memory microchip integrated into the battery. Through the charger, you can view and set preferences, such as charge rates, so that all you have to do to charge the pack every time is press the charger “Start” button. Smart technology takes care of the rest.
Every Smart LiPo battery is factory assembled with the next-generation IC3™ or IC5™ output connector that’s conveniently compatible with older devices equipped with robust EC3™ and EC5™ connectors. You can use Smart Batteries with older systems, but only when connected to a Spektrum Smart device will all the benefits of Smart technology become obvious.

Yea this battery has a big ass but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Can usually get close to 4 hours of drive time on one of these things. Driving a 10lb rock crawler piglet, 4 hours of porking around on one battery means more time greasing around rather than lying there like a piece of bacon.

Avoid these if you can and buy Gens Ace instead (sad to say, but Gens is so much better). I did not buy them from amain due to shipping restrictions, however, we own 4 of these 500C 3S LIPO's for an Arrma Notorious 6S v5. HH support is VERY hard to get a hold of...they take many WEEKS to respond to messages. Also, warranty claim is a NIGHTMARE.
Based on our experience, these batteries are NOT suitable for "bashing" in 6S Arrma cars. Out of the 4, two have experienced pre-mature "death" and other two after a few month only last half the time...despite excellent LIPO care, these are very weak. We (my Son and I) stopped playing when the ESC goes into low-power mode or shut off and we charged them right away after these LIPO's cool down. We made sure that even when not used for a week, batteries were at least at 50-60 % capacity. These LOSE, "leak", so much power even when sitting on the shelf...after 3-5 days they go from 100% charge to 40% or show up as "empty" on the S150 charger!! Our controller doesn't have battery display so the "I", or telemetry, is of no use for us. We have Gens Ace 50C, 4 month old, which have taken MORE "punishment" than these HH batteries...and Gens Ace still almost as good as new!
