The Spektrum RC 3S Smart G2 LiPo 100C Battery Pack with IC5 Connector provides pilots and drivers with an array of Smart benefits; Not only are charging parameters and performance data stored and uploaded automatically to Smart chargers, but no balance lead is needed — just one easy IC connection.
Smart G2 batteries come from the factory programmed to discharge automatically to a safe storage voltage of 3.90V after 72 hours of inactivity. The benefits include longer battery life, better performance over the life of the pack, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing your Smart battery is maintenance-free. You can change the battery's Auto Storage settings based on your own preferences. G2 batteries also offer a storage discharge rate that's three times faster than the previous G1 Smart batteries.
Enjoy the Smart Battery advantage of not having to set your own charging preferences. When a Smart G2 LiPo battery is connected to a Spektrum Smart charger, its unique charging parameters and health information upload to the charger from the battery's integrated memory microchip. Through the charger you can view and set preferences such as charge rates, so all that's required to charge the pack is connecting it to your Smart charger. That's the Smart Battery Advantage!

As per usual, the other reviewer suffered operator error and blames the brand and product, rather than taking responsibility for F'ing things up. This and other RC related websites are subject to allowing those new to the hobby the chance of leaving reviews when they have no idea what they're doing, hence the previous rating on the product page ? NOT impressed. As for the product, here it is...
I've been using these smart tech batteries for quite sometime and have been absolutely happy with them. I've yet to get a bad battery out of the box and they've withstood run after run at the track. The Smart Tech is easy to use. Overall, no complaints and a great place to start for new people looking to break into the hobby and experts alike. These are the first of their kind, so kudos to Horizon Hobbies!

If your investing in a scx6 this is the battery you want the soft pack will not fit thanks again amain hobbies for making that situation right these guys are the only shop I order from:) they never hesitate and that is top notch customer service!

G2 Spektrum batterie can be bricked with their own SMART charger with 1 touch of a button. How smart is this? Stupid stupid stupid...wow buy another brand. And DONT try to update your battery with your charger or you will join the spektrum fail army
