Serpent S811T-E "Cobra E" RTR 1/8 4WD Electric Truggy (Orange)
Excellent Right out of the Box! I had to bleed two of the shocks, and remount the ESC (the tape didn't hold). I notched the mounting tray to make some room for the ESC Signal wire. The ESC included will run Sensorless (included), or Sensored motors. (Nice!). The BEC is rated for 6V, 3A. I added a glitch buster (just in case) since I swapped out the servo for a Savox SB-2274SG. The included servo sould work fine for most people...but I wanted something quicker.
The stock transmitter/receiver, was pulled and put up on ebay....I never bothered to try it...however, a friend also bought the Cobra Truggy, and it worked fine for his first run on the track.
I've been doing RC since 1983...owned over 100 cars, and 50 airplanes......this one is a keeper.
Highly recommend.

Serpent S811T-E "Cobra E" RTR 1/8 4WD Electric Truggy (Orange)
This thing is scary fast on 6s. Put in a 19t pinion and it wheelies on command and wants to flip over, but runs very hot. Stick with stock pinion! Great truggy. Very durable. Rtr radio sucks... Not even close to the one pictured. But my airtronics will take care of that. Love it!

Serpent S811T-E "Cobra E" RTR 1/8 4WD Electric Truggy (Orange)
Great solid e-truggy, I was so impressed with serpent 811e-buggy rtr that I decided to get 811T E-truggy rtr. These rtr’s are really race ready, just went thru adding diff oils for recommended setup. Unlike like e-buggy the internal set screw for gear pinion was secure with loctite. Did some test laps at track, handles great with plenty of motor, with a good attitude off jumps. Most manufacturers will skimp on parts on their rtr’s but not with Serpent. Transmitter is not race ready, but would be ok for bashing.

Serpent S811T-E "Cobra E" RTR 1/8 4WD Electric Truggy (Orange)
**UPDATE** EXTREME AMOUNT of thread lock on wheel hubs from factory!! Build up of loctite (blue) causing difficult wheel/tire changes. Slighty bent 2x front CVDs from vice grip pliers (was able to remove) Extremely bent 1x rear CVD (was not able to remove) Stopped as I don't want to break it. Will email and send photos to Serpent USA. Damages should not occur to truggy and very extreme force (muscle) should also not be required performing routine maintenance.
**UPDATE** Serpent America, Florida--GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Emailed my problem, proof of purchase and photos. Shout out to Doug, Ricardo, and Joaquin for quick response and solving my issue. Parts mailed out next day. Anyone else has this problem STOP IMMEDIATELY and apply high heat to hubs..(I used my soldering iron & wedged into hex area & sit for 15-20 minutes to breakdown locktite) then 17mm wheel nut was able to be removed. ORIGINAL RATING *** After great experience with Serpent America *****

Handles very well, top quality materials used throughout kit, looks amazing, fast on 4s. First the wheels are extremely tight. Cannot remove & now both fronts possibly have stripped wheel hex? Cannot retighten either & now they're wobbling pretty bad. All 4 wheels are like this. I stopped trying once 1st rear wheel did same thing. Second, the plastic piece on lower part of aluminum body broke and shock went out on 1st run. This happened on 4s on moderate jumping in grass. Purchase was made
7/29/20. The shock doesn't concern me, stuff breaks in this hobby & is part of the fun in repairs and upgrades. But the wheels issue sucks because I can't run it (can run on busted shock) don't want to cause further damages from loose front wheels. I bought another set of wheels/tires to use for bashing and stock pin tires (excellent quality) will be used at local track. That's why I tried to remove wheels. I emailed Serpent America office in FL yesterday, maybe they can try to help in some fashion. I'll have to take to hobby shop, because I am beyond my scope of repairs. Also, wrenching on this is harder than expected. I've got AE, Tacon, and HPI electric & nitro RCs since 1996. But Serpent 811te is first rodeo in 1/8th. These are easy fixes but frustrating; wheels tightened by Thanos + threadlock at factory and can't remove is stupid problem to have. Don't let this rating scare you from buying! Get it, just don't change wheels/tires until absolutely ready. And the shock; chalk up as phantom hit...

Serpent S811T-E "Cobra E" RTR 1/8 4WD Electric Truggy (Orange)
This thing is very well built, center diff housing is aluminum and I like that the spur gear is also metal. Tested on a backyard track and it handles awesome. Running 2 ecopower 30c 2c batteries and it's bad fast. Little disappointed in the radio that is included but the rest of the truck is so impressive I'm still giving it 5 stars. Steering servo is also plenty fast which was also impressive and makes the truggy easy to drive. Serpent has this thing dialed!

Serpent S811T-E "Cobra E" RTR 1/8 4WD Electric Truggy (Orange)
Update / Edit: Well, I took it to a race and crashed it many times. I've taken my review from 3 stars to 4, because it survived hell on that track. It wouldn't break. It crashed in ways other truggies wouldn't survive, and it kept running. It took me to fourth place, which isn't just a testament to my skill. It held up amazingly, and I highly recommend this truck now. I am leaving my original review up, as those were my first impressions before race day.

While I would love to rate this Truggy higher than 3 stars, I can't ignore the faults that it had upon arrival. First, you may not receive a Dragon RC dts-1 controller with the Cobra E, as in my case I received the inferior dts-3. The controller being in the picture is deceptive, since in the manual and other resources, they clearly state you might receive a different controller. Second, the front tires had a flat spot on each. This is frustrating and was caused by the Truggy being stored poorly in the box for too long. The flat spots made it difficult to drive at any speed and were an eyesore in general. I ended up spending 100$ on tires just to rectify this. Thirdly, the Truggy requires suspension tuning out of the box. The droop screws, which determine the travel of the a-arms, were adjusted unevenly in the front and had Loctite, causing a bit of frustration as I had to fix their error. Now, that all sounds bad, but I need to add that I love this truck, now that I've fixed the tuning and replaced the tires. There is plenty of speed and power, and the servo feels adequate for general usage but may need to be replaced if used in a race setting. The truck is great in the air. It's fun to drive when it's working as intended. Lastly, this is purely neutral, but the ESC fan is loud and spins very fast. The ESC definitely won't be overheating, even on 6s, thanks to the little screaming fan. Overall, it's a fun truck, but you shouldn't buy one if you're expecting an RTR truck you can race.

Serpent S811T-E "Cobra E" RTR 1/8 4WD Electric Truggy (Orange)
Have issue with fan on esc. On first battery packs the fan broke one of the fan blades on esc and is rubbing and making noise and locking up. Called serpent and they will not warrenty due to scraps on bottom of my truggy from playing at our local rc track. From the looks of the fan can't be replaced unless you replace the whole speed controller. They told me it was a hobby wing with Dragon RC name on it. Serpent did say they would find out if hobbywing has parts. On the third set of batteries the rear diff stop working. Disassembled and found that a flange broke off one of the bearings. Serpent also said that wasn't under warrenty. Overall the truggy looks great besides my issues. Another thing is parts are harder to get due , you have to go to amain or them direct.

Serpent S811T-E "Cobra E" RTR 1/8 4WD Electric Truggy (Orange)
Excellent Truggy right out of the box super dialed and put together expertly by Serpent. Ran car at the house when it arrived and i can tell its gonna be a monster on the track! Running 4s now and its very fast. If your running on large outdoor tracks you may consider 6s or maybe just a higher Kv motor and stick with 4s. Will be doing some track testing tonight! Very happy with my purchase!

Serpent S811T-E "Cobra E" RTR 1/8 4WD Electric Truggy (Orange)
Excellent quality rc!
Well bonded and all the parts are screaming quality and durability..
In 4s this thing is violently fast (accelerates like a bullet-top speed is nice)
In 6s is just not fun! needs a stadium to drive it safely..
All in all this is a super truggy.
I own the TLR 8T 4.0 and this RTR has almost identical quality with the TLR.
(From a fun perspective the TLR with my Novarossi ELITE 5 is more fun but the serpent kills it without hesitation: is faster and more violent and the part quality is the highest possible..)
If you find it, take it. This thing is FAST, DURABLE, NIMBLE and RACE READY for sure!!!

Very happy with my purchase & the item I bought, the only upgrade I'm going to do is to put on a better steering servo but otherwise the Serpent Cobra etruggy is an excellent vehicle.

Serpent S811T-E "Cobra E" RTR 1/8 4WD Electric Truggy (Orange)
You get what you pay for okay. I have ran this thing and so far the bearings have went out and the differential and the differential gear is missing a tooth I haven't even run it on 6S and they have no parts available and I'm not spending $200 to order it from Italy. I've already had to order gear and some bearings and the one gear is not available so I'd spend your money on something else.

Serpent S811T-E "Cobra E" RTR 1/8 4WD Electric Truggy (Orange)
This truggy is fast right out of the box, good quality, i did switch the Tx Rx to a futaba, and will switch the servo to a faster one, although the stock servo is ok. This isn't my favorite RC but I gave it a 5 because I have had 0 issues with it and it's a pretty straight forward truggy.

The car differential was messed up I never got to drive the car it was rye but I took it to lhs and they said the car was played with prior to me getting it to the mail. I will never order here again and I kind of lost interest in the hobby after wasting about 600 dollars!!!!!

Serpent S811T-E "Cobra E" RTR 1/8 4WD Electric Truggy (Orange)
Some screws were not secured all the way and front differential stopped working properly after a few minutes use.

List of RC problems.
1. Loose screws.
2. Tires have flat spots.
3. No shims in front assembly.
4. Manual states shims should be in packaging but never found any.
5. Instead of flanged bearings in the front differential it's a regular bearing causing the bearing to stick out.
6. Differential had grease instead of diff oil.

When I initially got it I noticed some screws on the steering blocks were loose. Im just glad I didn't lose it on my test run. Took it to my local off-road track and after six laps the front differential kept slipping.

I was expecting so much from this truggy because it is very popular in Europe.

UPDATE 1/5/2024
Opened up the differentials and they had grease in them. Replaced with diff oil and greased outer diff but the problem still persists. Bought some shims online and hopefully that fixes the front diffs from slipping.

UPDATE 1/11/2024
Shims came in but that didn't fix the problem. I later realized one bearing was sticking out and realized they used the wrong bearing on the differential. It was supposed to be a flanged bearing. Whoever put this together got the center differential bearing mixed with the rear/front bearings.

This is an RTR "READY TO RETURN."

DO NOT BUY!!

If I have come across this much problems I might be coming across more problems in the future. It only has six laps on my local track and I have never pushed this to it's max speed. Also their Social Media presence on Instagram is dead. Super frustrating RTR Truggy. I should have just purchased an HPI Truggy or a kit.
