The Sculpto PRO 3D Printer was created for schools, institutions that have WPA2 encryption WiFi protection, hidden networks and advanced crypto that is typically found in government institutions. Sculpto PRO is perfect for applications that must accommodate multiple users. If you are a standard hobbyist, the Sculpto + is the correct model for you.

The Sculpto 3D printer was designed by rethinking the traditional 3D printer. This led to an incredibly simple and stable design which makes the Sculpto 3D printer one of the most compact and mobile 3D printers on the market and with a weight of only 2.7 kg and the possibility of printing objects that are the size of a football, 3D printing has suddenly become much more accessible!

With other 3D printers the process of finding or designing a model can require expert knowledge and can be very complicated. Sculpto has changed all that by making the printer 100% wireless and automating the processes in the “cloud” making it possible to print directly and with only one click on your smartphone or tablet.

Features:

  • The Sculpto+ 3D printer is almost soundless when printing.
  • The Sculpto+ has a printing volume of 5 litres.
  • The Sculpto+ delivers high quality printing. There are 3 different quality settings: ‘fine’, ‘normal’ and ‘fast’.
  • The Sculpto+ is integrated with Thingiverse. Print models with just a few clicks in the Sculpto app.
  • The Sculpto+ has made it very easy to print your own models. Easily upload your own designs from any given 3D modelling program and print it with only 3 simple settings.
  • The Sculpto+ uses biodegradable PLA for printing.
Technologies
  • App integration with slicer software in the cloud
  • Build-plate with magnets that is easy to click on and off. Flexible and with Buildtak technology.
  • S-curve acceleration that secures a stable printing process.
  • Electronics with micro-step motor-controllers
  • Bipolar 3D printing making the printer more compact and lighter and giving it a bigger printing volume

Sculpto PRO 3D Printer
Neutral rating on this one. It is a great machine to learn on but you will quickly want something that can do more. The current app only runs on a phone with no PC interface available. If you want to print a file that you draw or that is not available on thingiverse, you have to download the file to your phone. I emailed myself the file and then loaded it into the app to print. The app freezes a lot resulting in a lot of failed prints. The printer does not like PLA that is not made by sculpto and you cannot tweak the settings enough to make it work. The surface works pretty well for adhesion so long as you keep it really clean. A glue stick makes it even better but the bed not being able to be heated is a down side. Print resolution was good, not great but some of the things i printed did end up being useful. I learned a lot with this printer which was my purpose for buying it.. In the end my printer has a z axis problem and the app locks up every i have tried to resolve the issue and i have since given up on it.. Personally if i were looking to start with a 3d printer now knowing what i do, i would start with a creality 10s.. Sculpto takes a lot of guess work out of having to learn how to use software with the app driven simplicity but in the end, i was able to watch some videos on line and I am printing like crazy with the Creality..

Sculpto PRO 3D Printer
One Star (headed to zero)
Not the best printer. And nearly zero support.

I'd suggest you look at a printer from Creality or similar instead.

I'm going to keep working on it and maybe the review will change and go back up.

#1 Bad Support (so far) In the time of Covid, support has dried up. I've had a few basic issue with SW/App and Sculpto has been really slow and FliteTest has not returned my calls or email. So I will wrap that up to the times, keep looking on Youtube and other places, but so far support has been pretty much non-existent.

#2) SW/App leaves a bit to be desired. 1st issue is just linking Sculpto account to Thingiverse. This basic login connectivity has not worked. And I haven't been able to get it to work in two weeks. I can work around it, but the app is a little half-baked.
#2b) The SW/App seems to be hosted remotely on a server. Response time when entering data is very slow. If this is the case, then I would prefer a stand-alone SW/App platform that does not need internet connection to print.

#3) Print quality is so so. I moved on to a Creality 3Pro and and (my novice's perspective)the initial prints on the 3Pro are much better than with Sculpto.

#4) Removal of the rafts from the enhanced base is not as easy as with the Creality

#5) The human presence confirmation (4 colors buttons) is annoying at best. Creality is press and go.

The good:
It does get you printing from files fairly quickly. There is basically no HW setup. You can load .STL files from the app and it appears the sculpto does the slicing for you so there is no need for other SW. Just wish the Sculpto App worked better. Also, there appears to only be an app. Would be nice to have a desktop interface. I create models on the PC, and have to move them to a shared folder and then print from the app. So direct printing from the PC would be nice.

Reading reviews and videos tells me that 3D printing is a multi-year journey. So I hope to re-review this later, when I am further down my path. For now, the frustrations were high enough with the SW/App that I am focusing on a different printer to get me going.

....

I am now working with a Crealty 3D Pro for $210. Setup was much more extensive, but the initial print quality is better. Using tinkerCAD SW for my design and then slicing in Cura. I'm just a beginner, but my overall experience with Creality has been 5stars and my experience with Sculpto has be 0-1 stars. Of course, your experience may vary.
