This Ruddog 4S Charge Lead with 4-5mm Stepped Bullets was developed to charge 4S LiPo batteries with 4mm or 5mm bullet tubes and 5 pin balance port. This charge cable is 40cm in length and features 12 awg cables. This charge lead features 4mm/5mm step down bullet connectors, to fit batteries that feature 4mm and 5mm bullet holes, a 5-pin balance port, with 4mm bullets on the charger inputs and a 7-pin PQ type balance connector.

I got the 4S 40cm, 5 pin xh to 7 pin pq so that I could bypass the balance board going into my Protek 625 Duo from my Reedy sg4 5200 4S. The reedy has an internal male xh balance plug so this looked like a good solution. Plugged it all up and got a fail. Checked the pin outs and had to swap pins 1-5 and 2-4 on the xh side so that it all worked right. Looked at the male-male xh balance cable that come with the reedy battery and found that it has the 1-5 and 2-4 pins swapped there too so I’m not sure if that’s standard for internal balance ports or if that’s a reedy sg4 specific situation. So. 3 stars…not sure who is using a non-standard pin out but 5 minutes of work got this working.

The quality is second to none. The balance wire actually has a clip to lock it into your charger which is nice. However, you need an adapter for the balance lead in order to actually plug it into your 4S pack. Pack has female connector, charging lead has female connector. Why?
