The RPM Traxxas Unlimited Desert Racer Front Skid Plate is a three-piece design. This means if you need access to your A-arms for maintenance or replacement, far fewer screws need to be removed to get to them since you won’t have to remove the entire skid plate. The lower portions of the skid plate can even be accessed without removing the body!
RPM has incorporated an upper compression zone on the bumper portion of the skid plate that allows a moderate amount of flex during frontal impacts. This compression zone absorbs significantly more impact energy than stock, reducing the possibility of internal damage from head-on crashes.
The RPM UDR replacement skid plate is stronger than the stock parts and backed by RPM's limited lifetime warranty against breakage - so there’s a significantly lower chance you’ll need to replace it due to an “oops” moment. Plus, the RPM version has a larger front radius to help ease transitions up and over tall obstacles, unlike stock that has a steep front angle with minimal roll to the front edge.
This skid plate also has three skid ribs that will help absorb abrasion damage, adding to the longevity of the RPM skid plate. RPM Traxxas Unlimited Desert Racer Front Skid Plate
I cannot recommend this. When you inevitably have a few front end dives and impacts off jumps, the skid plate pushes in and down at the forward, upward curve of the skid plate and stays bent like that. This leaves an annoying droop in the front section of the lower skid. This bent section sticks down at least a quarter of an inch and looks ridiculous, not to mention changing the angles of the bumper pieces and lightbar. The one-piece Traxxas bumper may not absorb as much impact, but at least it doesn't bend and stay bent. I discovered this after installing the bumper brand new and running only one pack through my UDR. I'm not sure if it's worth trying to warranty it as I'm sure the replacement will immediately do the same thing. I will be putting the stock bumper and skid back on the truck.

wish the center section up to the front was made wider to protect the front bottom part of the truck instead of a slim design, the plastic is tough enough against big stones and doesn't bend.
