The Reedy Blackbox 1000Z+ Pro Competition ESC is an easy to use, powerful ESC option with versatile features that make it suitable for both Modified and Spec class racers. Excellent throttle and brake feel, a wide range of adjustability, and robust hardware make the Blackbox 1000Z+ PRO an excellent choice for a variety of racing applications.
Improving upon the 1000Z+ it replaces, the 1000Z+ PRO features a CNC-machined top case with an integrated heat sink, fan port, and bolt pattern suitable for an optional 30mm fan. Additional Drag Brake, Drive Frequency, and Max Brake Strength settings option have been added to allow for even greater fine tuning. A more reliable Power button, shared with the 510R ESC, doubles as a selection button for settings changes. However, by popular demand, the option to make settings changes using the Black PROgrammer2 (#27027, sold separately) has been added!

Adjustable Settings:
- Brake Frequency: Create a smoother or more aggressive brake feel.
- Maximum Brake Strength: Increase or reduce the ESC's maximum braking power.
- Power Profile: Increase or decrease "punch."
- Drive Frequency: Create a smoother or more aggressive throttle feel.
- Timing: Select the amount of timing fed to the motor to increase power and top speed.
- Operation Mode: Select Forward/Brake (F/B) or Forward/Brake/Reverse (F/B/R) operation.
- Restore Default: Restore the factory default settings.

Big step up from the 600z. It feels better all around. The braking feels more consistent and better burst acceleration. Manuel tunning isn't hard. Very happy with it. Would buy again.

Reedy Blackbox 1000Z+ Pro Competition ESC
Great ESC but I only wish they would have added more settings like boost and turbo like they did on the 510r. The 1000z name is confusing like its better. But I am happy with the ESC the settings are easy to set. Very responsive with my Sanwa radio. Reedy does make great products. Worth a shot!

Reedy Blackbox 1000Z+ Pro Competition ESC
So far so good, been running it for a few weeks now. Didn’t have the programmer so I just did it manually, I thought it was gonna be difficult but it was straightforward. I would recommend this product to a friend!

This statement made is the reason I purchased this ESC otherwise I would have continued along with another 510r. The purpose for starting with this is to make it clear that it is not the case. The blackbox programmer, per associated needs updating, which I was not able to perform by plugging into my own computer. Also, once that programmer is updated it won't work with the 510r or the 850r, the software is not compatible. Getting past that programming it manually wasn't too difficult and it operates smoothly. I haven't had it at the track yet, but the drag brake feels weaker to me than the 510r or some of my prior esc's.
