RC4WD "Warn" 8274 1/10 Scale Winch
I have one mounted on my TRX4 Blazer and absolutely love it! Looks awesome and works even better. Everyone that has seen it in action is amazed at it's capability. 50lb dead lift and 70 lbs drag makes easy work of pulling my 11lb rig out of and up anything without even straining. One thing I recommend is changing the synthetic line. Snapped it three times. Found a company that makes 10 foot 250lb test synthetic line same size thickness and it all fit on the winch drum. RC4WD hit the nail on the head with this one.

My opinion on the "Rc4wd" Warn 8274 Winch, and The Rc4wd "Wireless" Winch Controller, with TX remote.
I Absolutely love the "Rc4wd" Warn 8274 Winch, and for several reasons too, It is a Awesomely Scale,and Beautifully designed, Work of Art, It packs a Serious Punch with it's pulling power ratings, it has the Ability to "free spool" the winch line out, which is much faster vs having to power out your line, And Best of all, it's Extremely Robust! Excellent Quality all around,
And in my opinion, it is the Absolute Best! RC winch, on the market today, Yes, there is Several different brands, of Higher powered Servo Winches that are available, But they all lack the Beautiful Scale looks, of the "Rc4wd" Warn, 8274 Winch,

I purchased my First 8274 well over Three years ago, it's been sitting on the front of my Rc4wd Trail Finder two, since the day it was built, it's spent half of it's life under water, and it still works as good as the day I bought it,

Excellent Quality all the way around, Once again, I've had a 8274 winch mounted on my Rc4wd Trail Finder two, for well over three years now, and it's the same story with it's TX winch remote,

Dear reviewers, don't forget about voltage of fully charged battery 3s lipo. It's about 13 volts. Read supporting documents and use BEC. I use 7.4 volts BEC. IT'S good enough for this winch. Products of rc4wd are very good quality in most situations. Be careful using all the electric products.

The winch is unbelievable. The top section that would be the motor is machined billet aluminum anodized black. It’s not plastic. There’s no plastic on it at all. It’s 100% metal minus the rope. I do have one complaint. There is so much detail to this winch but the stickers don’t stay on. At all. The literally blow off in the wind. And I’m not joking. It’s a bit of a bummer because the winch is so awesome.

Have not had a chance yet to use it on my TRX4 Defender since I am still deciding how to mount it, but I have tested its functionality on 11.1V (as rated) using a 3S LiPo battery and it runs just fine! Plus, Because the wireless controller (not included) is also 3S compatible, I will be able to run this winch at maximum power and without the need for a BEC.
The quality seems to be very good and appears to be quite durable by design. I would have preferred if the power cable came out the back of the winch, but this is a minor detail. I look forward to putting this winch to use!

I ordered this for my husband's Rock Crawler, he installed it the night before a competition. He only made it through 1 out of 80 gates, but the wench worked great! Will be shopping here again.

The winch is great but I have one major complaint . The wire coming out of the winch need,s to be longer ! It is two and half inche,s short of the reciver box. I am using this winch on the axial scx10II WITH the proline 1946 dodge power wagon body and power wagon front winch bumper , has any one else run into this problem ?

Purchased this winch as a birthday present for my son's TRX-4, with excitement to add one to the other vehicles in the fleet. About a month went by before we had a chance to install it in his car. I picked up a simple 10A ESC and got it working right away, despite having to solder on a connector since this didn't come with one. Worked great. Pulled strong. Couple days later, we're messing with cars in the basement, and with NO LOAD, suddenly the winch stops working. After weeks of experimenting, replacing the ESC and purchasing another winch, I found that not only did this pile of junk product die, it took the ESC out with it.
So, we contact the company that sold it to us. They told us to contact this company RC4WD, and that they had a great warranty and would surely take care of us. Immediately there was resistance. I was asked how the winch was powered. I showed them the ESC and that I'm running 2s voltage. I then receive a response that I'm only supposed to use the RC4WD winch controllers, and that "The ESC should not ever be hooked to a winch". This support person didn't even seem to understand that their winch controller is just an overpriced ESC. It seemed at this point like they were denying my warranty claim specifically because I didn't use their ESC, which is a violation of federal law. When I pointed this out, their tune quickly changed. Now I'm told it only has a 30 day warranty and they won't replace it because we're outside of the warranty period.
Seriously, this winch got no more than 3 minutes of use before it died, and now RC4WD has refused to help in any way whatsoever. Clearly a trash product by a trash company that can't stand by the parts they manufacture. $100 down the drain because RC4WD doesn't care about its customers.
So, here I am recommending you steer far clear of this trash product and the trash company RC4WD.
