ProTek RC "TruTorque" Shock Shaft Pliers
it doesn't work on all 1/10 shocks. Too big to screw Yokomo BD12 shock ends

ProTek RC "TruTorque" Shock Shaft Pliers
I usually don't ever give this better review on protek tools I'm sure mine was a defect I've had it for about a year now and it's been adding up a lot of money that it breaks I use the pillow ball thing all the time to take pillow balls out and it ends up snapping them and breaking them I have multiple photos of all of the pivot balls that the tool has has broken and bent very upsetting because it has cost me over $20 and I don't have a lot of money to just be replacing stuff like that. The pivot balls that have been broken so far are the team associated b6.1 pivot balls for the shocks 6 have broke so and now I'm going to have to buy new ones and I don't have the money and I race this weekend. But other than that the shock tool is great I think I'm going to have to find a better tool.

These are awesome. That's all I have to say. If you're building a kit or a suspension setup this tool is must have, period. All the best, RC racers!

ProTek RC "TruTorque" Shock Shaft Pliers
This is a tool for assembling shocks. I'll be honest and say I have no idea what most of the little nooks and crannies are for, but the two little holes near the "top" are for grabbing onto shock rods and they work a treat. I mean, yeah, you can do that with pliers, but the rough surface of pliers will mess up the rods. These won't. Plus, let's be honest, it's a specialized tool for a specialized purpose, and that's always better. Chicks dig guys with specialized tools. Seriously. Also, if you're a chick with this tool, then that's like even better! So get them. Today.

ProTek RC "TruTorque" Shock Shaft Pliers
ProTek stuff has been a part of my tool box ever since I got into RC last year. Now that I’ve started building my cars with oil-filled shocks, I needed a pair of pliers I could rely on.

The truth is… I have two of these and not because I REALLY like ProTek but because I actually lost my original one in my house like the dozens of 10mm sockets I’ve bought over the years. Lol

Anyway, these shock pliers are my favorite tool to have and can rely on to get the job done. The nutcracker design make it’s easy to put ball end connectors onto shock shafts without the risk of marring them like you would a set of needle nose pliers would, a critical thing that ensures you don’t prematurely cut up your o-rings and cause your shocks to lose oil and overall pressure.

My favorite feature is the ball end remover. Now, granted you WILL have to remove them before you can separate them from the ends but assuming you can, this tool will do it all for you. In the event you can’t, I recommend a pry tool like the Yeah Racing ball end remover tool or something similar. As for ball end connectors, if you have two of these pliers, you technically use the ball end remover section to spin on the connectors to the bottom of your shock shaft while simultaneously holding the shock shaft with the other set of pliers.

In the end, this is a very valuable tool to have in your tool box and if you don’t have it yet, you should just buy one. For comparison, the Tamiya TRF Special Tools version of this tool costs nearly double the cost of the ProTek while doing the exact same job.

Anyway, take it from a guy that has two. It’s worth the money; if you need it, buy it!

ProTek RC "TruTorque" Shock Shaft Pliers
Serves most purposes for building and maintaining shocks.

Really wish there was a better/easier way to assemble ball ends without spending money on the Hudy pliers, but the disassembly stud works alright.

ProTek RC "TruTorque" Shock Shaft Pliers
Haven't used any other shock shaft pliers to compare, but compared to wrapping a rag around the shaft and attempting to keep it from turning, without scratching it, with a pair of regular pliers... these things rock! Couldn't ask for a better product.

ProTek RC "TruTorque" Shock Shaft Pliers
Very ergonomic and easy to grip, unlike the STRC ones (which I also own). Provides a solid hold on the shock shaft.

don't let this pliers fool you. It looks like a nut/crab cracker but it is the best tool that I've used for building shocks.
