The ProTek R/C "Prodigy 66 Duo AC/DC" LiHV/LiPo/LiFe/NiMH AC/DC Battery Charger is a dual port AC/DC charger that can handle 6S packs, is capable of up to a 6 amp charge rate, worldwide 100V/220V voltage versatility, with two 50 Watts of power... the next generation of Prodigy has arrived.
Two Independent Outputs
The Prodigy 66 DUO AC/DC features dual inputs to simultaneously charge two independent battery packs. This provides the flexibility to set charging parameters independently for each channel to accommodate for nearly any need.
Hi-Voltage Capable
This charger features a Hi-Voltage LiHV mode that allows you to safely charge Hi-Voltage LiHV capable batteries. You can adjust the charging end voltage of this mode up to 4.40V per cell, which is considerably higher than 4.20V per cell of an ordinary LiPo battery. Charging at this higher end voltage requires a Hi-Voltage LiHV capable battery, but the power gains are significant to the overall punch and power for the R/C model. But please note: battery voltages exceeding 4.20V per cell is prohibited from sanctioned racing rules, such as ROAR, IFMAR, etc.
Dual Power Input
The power source can be 11-18V DC input or a 100-240V AC source. With a builtin power supply, users can directly connect the AC power cord to the main AC input. The power supply can accept AC power from all over the world without the worry of damage.

How To Calculate Your Charging Needs
To determine if this charger is suitable for your application, you must perform this calculation to determine the maximum amp rate the charger can supply. Divide the Watts of the charger by the Voltage of the battery pack. This will tell you the maximum amp rate the charger can deliver (Watts / Voltage = Amps). For example, if using the Touch 625 AC and a 6S LiPo battery, you would divide 200 Watts by 22.2 Volts to realize a 9 Amp charge rate. This means that the charger can supply a maximum of 9 amps to a 22.2 Volt 6S battery. This amp rate will gradually reduce as the battery voltage increases during the charge cycle.
LiPo Battery & Charger Warnings:
1) DO NOT leave the battery in your model when charging
2) DO NOT leave unattended when charging
3) ALWAYS balance charge the battery
4) ALWAYS use a LiPo charging bag
5) YOU MUST use a Li-Poly specific charger to charge the pack (NiMH or NiCd only chargers WILL NOT WORK!)
6) YOU MUST not over discharge the Li-Poly battery pack
7) READ & UNDERSTAND the instructions carefully before operating this battery
WARNING NOTE: This charger is not recommended for use with Traxxas batteries with ID connectors or Spektrum Smart batteries with IC connectors. Charging batteries equipped with ID or IC connectors may require additional steps in order to safely balance charge your Lipo batteries. I purchased this charger to replace my HiTec X1 Touch that I had since 2014. The discharge feature in my X1 had finally quit. So far, the Prodigy 66 Duo has been great. I have charged shorty Li-HV, standard shorty Lipo's, basher batteries, and the battery for my controller. It's done great balance charging everything and then storage charging after using them. I have used the discharge a couple of times. It also works well. So far, I like the charger.

Charger works fine, has exactly the same menus as the Skyrc charger I had before purchasing this Protek unit.
So the switch was seamless.
The product is very good.
I give it 3 stars because it does not come with the necessary cables to actually connect the batteries.
So if you purchase this, bear in mind that it is not plug & play. You will need to buy the connectors for your LiPo/LiFe/NiMh batteries separately, which adds extra cost and inconvenience.
First time I am actually let down by Protek RC (though this is easy to fix, just add the cables guys...)

Love this charger. Hook the battery up, adjust the settings and, run it. Charges all modern batteries for many types if you purchase the squid charger plug with it as well. Highly recommend this charger.

I really like this charger. It is really easy to use being that I just got into using lipos and electrics in R/C. One thing that I wish I would've known about charging before was being able to increase amps. The most that I am able to charge is 6 amps.

It does what it says, but as others have mentioned it’s a little slow to charge high MaH batteries as there is a 6amp peak charging limit and storage charging is even slower at 2a. The upside is that you can charge two batteries at once.
I wish my 8000+ MaH 4s batteries could charge at at least 1c, but the lower rate is actually better in the long term for battery life. So….patience, Grasshopper.
The biggest downside for me though is the lack of a cell resistance field on the menu. Unless I’m doing something wrong, because I can only get individual cell voltage to display.
All that said though, I think it’s a very good value for a dual charging system for the price. The lack of provided charging cables wasn’t a big deal for me because I already had them and they’re only a few bucks anyway, but as others have said, make sure you order what you need for your batteries.
If you do have higher capacity LiPo’s though you might want to step up for a higher amperage unit with more features. I wish I had, I just didn’t want to spend twice as much at the time.

Awesome Charger, I wanted something with a little bit more capabilities than my 10 year old venom charger, This has more options for battery types plus faster charge and discharge times. I highly recommend this charger. I convert all my new Traxxas connectors to IC3. All my old Traxxas batteries are dead and gone but I have a venom battery that's still going strong 10 years later. Well see how these $40 new batteries hold up. Traxxas track record not very good so why would I want to be stuck in their Ecosystem that you can't get connectors for?

Finally taking the plunge to mostly electric planes nowadays. Picked this unit up mostly for the purpose that it can handle two batteries at once and also offered many connectors as well as a “storage” function. Not the most user friendly interface although the instructions include a breakdown. I love this charger, would definitely buy again.

This charger is very good, but perhaps not quite as exceptional as the rave reviews make it out to be. I've owned all three of the top-selling Duo chargers on the market (this one, the Hitec X2 Black, and the Venom Pro Duo), and I can say each has its pros and cons. The issues with the Prodigy 66 are as follows:
(1) As many other people mention, it doesn't have many adapters included - just dual Deans connectors, which is generally fine, but will leave some people looking for add-on accessories.
(2) As some people mention, the storage charging output is pretty low, just 2A, so it can take a while to storage charge a typical 5000+ MAh LiPo.
(3) What no one has mentioned: it doesn't have a LiPo battery meter available in the menus. Sure, you can see voltage during a charge, but this isn't of much use if you're trying to figure out which of your many LiPos to charge first. This is a critical omission.
(4) The weight: while a lot of people think this is a sign of quality, I'm not convinced that the heavy steel chassis matters, and it makes it less convenient to move around and transport. You also may have to worry about it getting scratched or scratching your work surface.
(5) Last thing: I like what Amain is doing with the ProTek house brand, and my favorite servo ever is a ProTek, but Amain didn't manufacture this charger - it's just a knockoff of a Chinese model, packaged nicely and marked up in price. There's no special ProTek sauce that makes this an exceptional charger.
I ended up returning mine, and to Amain's credit, they were totally easy to work with in getting the return authorization despite my having opened the box. I'll definitely keep shopping at Amain for the long haul!
By the way, the best of the three chargers in this price range in my opinion is the Hitec X2, but sadly it's also the only one that broke on me, with one of the two charging channels failing after 18 months. So nothing's perfect!
