This is a pack of four IB2000mAh NiMH Intellect "AA" batteries from ProTek R/C. These batteries are great for your transmitter and have enough capacity to last all day long without going dead. These batteries are also great for making your own custom receiver packs for 1/8th scale buggies and monster trucks, so you can complete those long main events. The recommended charge rate for these batteries 0.5C for the best battery life, but you can charge them at more than 1C if you wish (2A).
NOTE: These batteries are a direct fit for more Ready To Run transmitter radios, such as the Traxxas TQ Radios. Most batteries more than 2000mAh in capacity will not fit into the radio tray in Ready To Run transmitters.

That's because you are placing it in the right place. If your metal bench is metal then your bench is definitely going to suck the life out of the batteries. If you set them on wood it would be a different story.

I bought 2 pack of these.
First, They were not want to take a charge. I got them to charge using a very low charge rate.
Then the things would go dead in a couple of days sitting on the bench, not in any thing.
I went thru this process one more time, then round filed them.
