This is a Protek 48P Light Weight Aluminum Pinion Gear. These are light-weight, hard anodized, CNC machined aluminum off road pinion gears that allow your motor to spool up quicker and improve acceleration when powering out of the corners.

Machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and hard anodized, these precision cut gears are durable and ideal for any 48 pitch application. Plus, the 18 tooth and larger gears have been machined on the back side to remove as much weight as possible, without sacrificing strength. These gears are available in 13 - 38 tooth variants, and the tooth count is engraved on the gear for easy identification. Each gear includes a setscrew to make installation easy. Choose the tooth count you need from the pull down menu above.

  • 48 Pitch
  • Choose from 13 to 38 tooth sizes
  • Hard anodized aluminum
  • Super light weight design

ProTek RC 48P Lightweight Hard Anodized Aluminum Pinion Gear (3.17mm Bore) (22T)
Nice pinions but the 20t def wasn't machined out to save weight, it had a solid face. Other than that works as it should

ProTek RC 48P Lightweight Hard Anodized Aluminum Pinion Gear (3.17mm Bore) (18T)
Bought with my element builders kit 2 it said hard aluminum and I thought great it’s going against a plastic spur should be okay. It wasn’t lasted maybe a month and now it looks like I put it in a sand blaster. it’s covered by a cover and not exposed to sand and dust but the plastic spur is fine. Maybe I should get a plastic pinion ?

ProTek RC 48P Lightweight Hard Anodized Aluminum Pinion Gear (3.17mm Bore) (23T)
Used this on Senton-Mega v3 with NiMH. Ran it about twice per week on mostly high grip (tarmac) surfaces, it eventually lasted about a month before pinion teeth started looking like shark teeth. I frequently checked to make sure mesh looked good, it might've not always been perfectly meshed but I feel like a "metal" pinion gear should not deform this easily/quickly when meshed against a plastic spur gear.

ProTek RC 48P Lightweight Hard Anodized Aluminum Pinion Gear (3.17mm Bore) (23T)
Completely stripped in 20 min on 2S Brushless. Although super weak for me they are perfectly made and crazy light. As long as your not pushing a ton of power these are great.

ProTek RC 48P Lightweight Hard Anodized Aluminum Pinion Gear (3.17mm Bore) (29T)
I am not sure what's going with the so called harden alm. gears. I fried like 2 of these. I noticed the spur gears are much harder than the pinions. I had a burr in the spur I didn't see and sure enough it damaged the pinion. If you run in a sandy track cover your shit...lol
