This is the ProTek R/C "Sport Race" 2S 5000mAh, 25C Lithium Polymer hard case battery pack. This battery features a genuine Traxxas High-Current Connector® for the ultimate in efficiency, ease of use and high current handling capabilities for charging/discharging and a 3-pin Align/E-Flite style XH balance connector for balancing. Although these are not ROAR approved hardcase batteries, they are built using a hard lexan shell to help prevent damage in the event of a crash.

These ProTek R/C "Sport Race" battery packs can be used in any application where 6-cell NiMH stick or race packs are required, such as 1/10th scale electric touring cars or 2wd and 4wd off-road vehicles. These packs are significantly lighter when compared to regular NiMH race packs, reducing the overall vehicle weight for significantly improved acceleration. Li-Poly batteries also have a nominal voltage of 7.4V compared to the 7.2V of regular NiMH batteries, and have much lower internal resistance. This leads to better top speeds and improved 'punch' off the line when compared to NiMH batteries.

Note: Some vehicles may require re-balancing, as the reduced weight of these batteries may cause handling changes. To get the vehicle to balance correctly, add weight to the battery side of the vehicle.

Unlike most other Lithium Polymer batteries, these batteries can be charged at up to 2 times the rated current, or 2C! If your charger is capable, you can charge these batteries at up 10A!

CRASH Protection Guarantee!
ProTek RC offers a 50% Damage Replacement program for one (1) year after original purchase date on all batteries that have been damaged due to impact, over-discharging, or improper charging that have not been modified or disassembled. The damaged battery will be replaced by a comparable battery at 50% off of its retail cost.

IMPORTANT:
1) You will need a Li-Poly specific charger to charge the pack (NiMH or NiCD only chargers WILL NOT WORK!)
2) You must not over discharge the Li-Poly battery pack.
3) Read the instructions carefully before operating this battery.

NOTE: When using high energy Li-Polymer Batteries, please do not over-discharge or over-charge batteries as this will result in over heated batteries. Discharging capacity can't exceed 80% of the max capacity of the pack after full charging to ensure a good cycle performance. It is recommended to fully charge a brand new battery before using and only discharge the battery 50% for first 5 cycles. Always monitor race time and/or set a low voltage warning on ESC (End voltage cannot be lower than 3.2v per cell). Do not use the battery that has too low a voltage.

Do not expose batteries to sunshine or store/charge batteries at the temperature above 35°C or in a closed car. The high temperature environment could cause damage to the pack or make it burst. If the battery becomes hot while fast charging, high current discharging or racing, do not charge the battery until it has cooled completely. Wait about 20 mins, then inspect prior to recharging.

ProTek R/C is an AMain Sports & Hobbies brand.

ProTek RC 2S "Sport Race" Li-Poly 25C Battery Pack (7.4V/5000mAh, w/Traxxas Connector)
Yes the the plastic is thin and has come off but some electrical tape fixed that and another problem that everyone should keep on eye on is right were the leads come out of the batteries. The insulation on both of my protek lipo has pealed away and exposing the wires. I used shoe goo to keep the leads apart and insalate them.

ProTek RC 2S "Sport Race" Li-Poly 25C Battery Pack (7.4V/5000mAh, w/Traxxas Connector)
I am writing this in response to the above review. I have the following Hard case batteries: ProTek 7.4 V 5600 mah 65 C batteries and ProTek 7.4V 5000mah 25C batteries. The 5600's do have a slightly harder case, but the 5000's mentioned have, in my opinion, a hard case battery case. The batteries also work quite well for what they are. They are slightly inferior to the 65C's, but are priced accordingly. I have raced these in my SCT (7.4V) and E-buggy which uses 2 - 2S batteries (equals 4S). I have to say I prefer the more expensive batteries, but not by much.... Just wanted everyone to get a fair review of these batteries and their cases..

ProTek RC 2S "Sport Race" Li-Poly 25C Battery Pack (7.4V/5000mAh, w/Traxxas Connector)
Im sorry but this is NOT a hard case battery. It has a cheap thin plastic lining that's as thick as a sticker. If you want a softcase that's a little bit more protected because it has a layer of thin plastic, then this is it. If your looking for a proper hard plastic hardcase battery, this is NOT one of those.
