This is a set of two Pro-Line ION 2.2" Rear Buggy Tires. The ION proved electrifying from the start, taking the ROAR National Championship in Pro-2 SC at the hands of Ryan Cavalieri. The ION was designed from the ground-up to be the ultimate indoor clay tire requiring zero break-in period and ground breaking performance that is now available for your buggy! The unique molecular structure tread design provides unbelievable forward and side traction not yet achieved in any indoor race tire to date. Even with the super-low tread height, maximum wear is reached by the alternating dual center lugs. The ION is also extremely easy to drive due to the super-smooth side tread that flows organically out of the tire sidewall.

Pro-Line ION 2.2" Rear Buggy Tires (2) (MC)
Unlike the other two reviews below me, I bought these tires for indoor high traction clay and have nothing nice to say. I find them to be incredibly hard. No amount of saucing has softened these to how soft JC Dirtwebs or AKA Chainlinks become under the same treatment. I have difficulty getting any side traction out of these tires. Straight away speed seems to be normal, but my car immediately does a 180 under the slightest touch of steering. I never had any difficulty with the PL Electrons, who knows???

1. there is no suck thing as the perfect tire.
2. there are different types of clay.
3. you stated your track is allowing tire sauce.

personally i think the pl tires natural rubber is softer than either the j concepts or the aka (rubber). but that's just me. also comparing a tire like the electron to an ion isn't a good comparison.
the side wall in an electron is stiffer and has a natural square edge. this tire has a rounded shoulder with the tread rolled over the tires edge.
aka real side bite.
2 clay compound tires with 2 totally different track and clay types.
the only other variables would be wet or dry surface
and car setup.

Great tires for indoor clay. Have just the right amount of side bite and last a long time. With traction compound they were hooked on the clay and out performed bar codes. Also worked extremely well on indoor carpet as my track banned mini pins. Closest tire you can get to work like mini pins for carpet. Lasts a long time with plenty of competitive life on both surfaces.

Great tires for indoor clay tracks. I'm running a set on a TLR 22 w/7.5 mod motor. Really impressive forward bite and easy to control side bite. If your indoor clay track is a little to wet you may want to choose a different tire though. These seem to do best in clay that hasn't been soaked down.
