OFNA Hyper Star Electric 1/8 4WD Buggy Kit
I have the Hyper 9e, which is near identical with the Hyper Star. Compare to Losi 8IGHTe or 808e, this is less expensive, however, compare to OFNA's own NEXX and LX2e, this is 70-100% more expensive, at first, I can't justify the different, but I love the "perfect balance" design for this, so I go ahead and bought one, this is a great buggy! the materiel, fit and finish is better then the LX/NEXX series for sure, and I say it is about par with Losi. (just some bolts are a bit too short, so thread lock is a must) The manual is a joke, but it comes 80% built, I just need to build the shock, and rebuild the diff to 5-7-3. Nice buggy overall.

OFNA Hyper Star Electric 1/8 4WD Buggy Kit
I absolutely agree about the manual however I was unfortunate in that it was my first 1/8 scale but I figured it out. I don't have enough experience to really comment on handling or anything but I can say that it has proven very durable even after some poor lands off a triple. However if I had to give my opinion I would say it handles very predictably and has good suspension except for I wish it had come with better tires and medium springs.

OFNA Hyper Star Electric 1/8 4WD Buggy Kit
I was a little apprehensive about purchasing this buggy based on the fact there were no reviews, so I feel obligated to write one. This kit is absolutely awesome for the money. The idea of directly connecting the output of the center diff to the rear diff is one that should have come long ago. The battery tray is huge, plenty of room for electronics, a fantastic implementation of the pillow ball front suspension and very durable. I can't say enough about how well this thing performed during my first club race with it. Excellent balance, excellent suspension and excellent traction. The one downside is that the instruction manual is absolute garbage. Ofna always has really bad photo copied manuals, but this one has errors on nearly every page. Unless you are VERY familiar with building 1/8th scale buggies, don't even bother trying to build this one. I can't stress enough how poor the manual is. However, once you manage to get it all together correctly, the buggy itself is fantastic. So I highly recommend it to those who are adapt at building 1/8th scale buggies, or to anyone who can find someone to help them build it. It really is a great engineering accomplishment for Ofna/HoBao. Try it out!
