The O.S. Speed B2103 Type S Competition Off-Road 1/8 Buggy Engine is redesigned and modified to improve performance and run-time. The crankcase was designed specifically for this buggy engine and utilizes a low center of gravity cooling head for the best possible cooling in high ambient temperatures. Additionally, a rear ceramic bearing and DLC-coated, tungsten balanced crankshaft is used to keep the engine spinning smoothly. The inner head features a silicon O-ring to reduce vibration and prevent dust intake.

The Type-S engine also features a 3-plus-1 port long-stroke configuration to increase torque in the low to mid RPM range while being easy on fuel consumption. The engine utilizes the updated crankcase, end cap and DLC-coated crankshaft, combined with the super efficient 22D carburetor for smoother throttle response and improved mileage.

  • Crankcase: Redesigned crankcase, on which OS SPEED logo is engraved, has enough surface area for effective heat dissipation.
  • Cylinder liner: Type S 3– ports liner performs well at medium and low speed range
  • Outer head: Type S has high vertical finned low-profile cooling head for improving the car drivability with low gravity.
  • Inner head: For reducing vibration and preventing dust, the inner head is adopted silicon O-ring.
  • Carburetor: Type S features the 22D carburetor which emphasizes quick response and smooth acceleration.
  • Ball link: Redesigned ball link which can change the position of fixing screw for easy access.

O.S. Speed B2103 Type S Competition Off-Road 1/8 Buggy Engine
This engine is not a huge powerhouse its nothing like a Drake, a b2101, or even a spec 2 this thing is different this Engine is buttery smooth to be honest this is the smoothest engine I've ever felt and it's very easy to tune and great on gas with a Hipex 2135 Evo 2 I haven't even used it with the 2100 pipe that was designed for it which means it probably gets better mileage and has even better controllability than I have experienced. But life hack Just purchase the Protek Samurai SO3 Its the same engine for $169 less only difference is the O.S. comes whit a low profile head and the samurai doesn't but Protek sells the low profile head for $69 which means it still comes in $100 less than its O.S. Speed counterpart. Don't be fooled tho the head is pretty but the normal Samurai head cools the engine more effectively especially under the California sun.

After breaking this engine on the hudy starter bench this engine have lots of power. After using a gallon of breakin I did some find tuning and it is a killer engine. Lots of power. I used this engine on my MP9 TKI and it is so much fun. I love this engine and no regret.

O.S. Speed B2103 Type S Competition Off-Road 1/8 Buggy Engine
A heat gun is definetly needed , this engine is tight. I've run about 4 tanks so far . The pinch is getting better. So far things are looking good. The engine tunes easily already as well. The booklet that comes with the engine is also very helpful . I can't wait to run this engine flat out . -//- hi guys. I've just bought this engine. The reviews on OS engines are generally good. Does anyone know whether this engine is a 7 port & if it uses a turbo glow plug or the normal glow plug ?

I agree with Todd on this one. I would honestly use a heat gun to get it going. Im actually using the Losi RE-10 with it. It is in a losi 8ight 2.0. i ran 5 tanks so far and I love it!! If you are thinking about getting it. Don't think anymore and just buy it. You won't be let down!

this is the best .21 nitro motor there is tons of power tunes well and easily mine has had 10 litres of fuel aprox 2 and a half gallons and the tune hasn't changed you can't beat a good turbo head motor and to repeat myself this is the best weather you want to race or stick it in a truggy and bash

O.S. Speed B2103 Type S Competition Off-Road 1/8 Buggy Engine
I HAVE TWO OF THESE AND TWO OS WORLD SPEEDS AND THE PRO MODS RUN CIRCLES AROUND THE SPEED MOTORS. BEST AND MOST POWERFUL ENGINE I HAVE EVER RUN. THINK NO MORE THIS IS THE BEST ENGINE OUT IN MY BOOK. I RACE THREE STATES AND NOBODY PULLS ME ON THE STRAIGHT AWAYS.
