This is the Novarossi BONITO.21-7XLB/A 7 Port Competition .21 Off Road Engine. Based on the Toro-Nero engine, Novarossi found room for improvement through a variety of subtle changes and developed the BONITO.21-7XLB. The Bonito features the redesigned 'Lighter & Lower Evo2' type cooling head that lowers the center of gravity of the engine and chassis, as well as improving cooling efficiency. Revised porting provides more linear bottom end power than the Toro with the same incredible top end delivery, while the piston design features Novarossi's 'Compact Combustion Technology', providing increased efficiency. The crank spins on a high quality steel rear bearing, while the backplate has been updated with a steel insert for reduced conrod friction and extended conrod life.


  • Cooling Head: The 'Lighter & Lower evolution 2' type cooling head has been drilled and milled out to reduce the mass of the cooling head, reducing the Center of Gravity of the engine/car.
  • Piston: The material of this piston has been chosen for its excellent strength to weight properties. The shape of the top of the piston features Novarossi's 'Compact Combustion Technology' which improves the efficiency of the engine. This piston is also milled from a single block which further increases the strength.
  • Conrod: The R7 conrod is made from a super light aluminum which has been ultrasonically tested. The shape of the R7 rod reduces turbulence inside the engine while running.
  • Sleeve: The sleeve has 7 transfer ports and an exhaust with booster ports. The special shape and positioning of the ports, covered by a patent, improves the internal fluid-dynamics to obtain maximum performance.
  • Rear Cover: The rear cover optimizes the case volume and reduces dead space. The steel plate reduces friction and extends the lifespan of the conrod.
  • Crankshaft: The crankshaft has a special shape to reduce turbulence inside the crankcase. The front part was extended to improve the seal and help to reduce fuel leaking.
  • Carburetor: The carburetor is made from plastic, in "reverse" style and has a sliding throttle valve.
  • Combustion Chamber: The combustion chamber is supported by an O-Ring which is placed between the combustion chamber and the crankcase to reduce the vibrations of the combustion chamber.
  • Glowplug: The glowplug of engine is a Turbo type glowplug. Turbo glowplugs have a different shape than Standard glowplugs and therefor are not interchangeable able with engines that use Standard glowplugs!

Hello,Guys I have this motor in my kyosho mp9 tki3,and I must say it a beast.But I come to realies it to much POWER.I over KILL big am taken it out.and put it in a truggy.

exellent engine, but i had a better experience with the top speed, bottom end with the Toro Nero team engine by Novarossi. The Toro nero Team was like driving a RB C6 with more speed. I still use my Bonito, which have a more linear powerline than the Toro nero, The pluss 4 is also a great engine, very smooth, but the most powerfull and fastest linear powerband did i find in my modifyed Novarossi Virtus.. it's nearly to fast to drive on tracks and you have to be a very smart and professional driver to handle a mill like a full modded Virtus i have all this novarossi.. plus 4 and so on It will work very well on a big track cause of it's speed and Power. Anyway we talked about the Bonito. It's easy to adjust… the tuning holds very well, low on fuel outtake. It's a strong engine and if you adjust the clutchbell from ordinary set 13, ad it to 14. It's a powerful engine , but lacks a litle bit off top end, adding more T to such a strong engine will give it the top end that this engine is ment to deliver. Remember one more tooth….and we will be fast like a leopard.

Just got this motor for my Hong Nor X3 Sabre. Thing thing is absolutely amazing. Broke it in at 5 or 6 tanks of 20 percent fuel with the out of the box carb settings[super rich]. Then per the sheet the motor came with, set the low speed screw 5 turns out from all the way in and the high speed needle 3 1/2 turns out. Swapped the glow plug for a new one as well as the fuel to 25 percent. Put me in the ball park towards a good tune and man did it come alive. Couldn't be happier with my purchase, thanks for the awesome motor Amain and Novarossi! Now if only I could score a discount on some fuel, LOL!

Engine is fast like a rocket. Easier to get over tough quads or triples. Revs insanely high. Runtime is great w/6mm. venturi. I went track to track all summer and never even touched the needles. Always felt perfect and came off around 230. Best buggy motor i have ever owned. A+
