Novak Ballistic Spec Racing Brushless Motor (17.5T)
I love the Novak Ballistic motors. They are fast, like a lot of the other new generation motors. But there are a few things that sets this apart. 1. Its modular. the sensor assembly, both end bells, the stator, the rotor, the sensor assembly, the bearings, are all easily removable and replaceable, and available to be purchased separately. With other manufactures you have to buy whole part kits, when you only may need one part. 2. The position of the sensor wire is at 90 degrees from where most are, this in my opinion helps protect the wire and connector, the silicone around the connector helps keep it secure as well. 3. Nice big solder tabs. And like the sensor connector they moved it in a little bit from the edege, it is less likely to get bumped when you get rear ended or land a jump wrong. 4. Novak's color coding means when I go to the tech bench there is no doubt that it is a 17.5, you can see the big bright yellow tab 20 feet away. I have 17.5's from various manufactures (LRP, Tekin, Novak SS, Epic) and other 17.5's are *as fast* but not any faster. But the serviceability and smart design of the connectors makes this motor the motor to get.
