This is the optional MIP Losi 5IVE-T Real Brakes Kit. The stock Losi 5T brake system is plagued by excessive fading, glazing, galling, low quality material and more. Because the OEM brake system is a metal on metal system, the steel plates and aluminum disk will heat up during your run and the surfaces will start to gall each other. Being that aluminum is a softer material it will take the brunt of the damage and soon enough with more heat and excessive galling the stopping power of the OEM brakes are little to none. Why would anyone put brakes like that on a race car?
The MIP Real Brake System is similar to the disk brakes found on motorcycles, bikes, and large cars, just smaller! MIP’s Real Brakes feature replaceable brake pads for stopping power and a disk rotor that is sure to last the life of your car. To put it simply, these brakes work! With the MIP 5T Real Brakes, adjusting the pitch of the car in the air is a synch and as your car reacts in the air the brake rotor will not get cocked forward or backward due to MIP’s brake guide. This system has been tested for months by MIP’s product development team and is attributed with the 2014 West Coast Nationals Win and 2015 Nitro Challenge Wins. If you are serious about racing your 5IVE-T, these are a must have upgrade.
