This is an optional MIP Spline Center CVD Kit, and is intended for use with the Axial SCX10. The MIP Spline Center CVD Kit replaces the stock plastic drive shafts with a high quality steel drive shaft kit that requires no vehicle modification to install. Parts are manufactured from USA quality, heat treated Alloy Steel and black oxide coated. Designed for competition crawling or backyard bashing and are completely rebuildable.

NOTE: This CVD kit is not directly compatible with the SCX10 Jeep Rubicon Edition, Dingo or Trail Honcho Trucks equipped with WB8 Wild Boar Driveshafts with thru-pin outputs. Use TRA5145 with thru-hole outputs on newer Axial transmissions and axle pinions. Additionally, use MIP11116 for vehicles equipped with the WB8 Wild Boar Driveshafts.

Yup, I have these on my SCX10 Jeep JK Rubicon as well. A 10 minute modification to the spur gear housing, and these beauties were installed. Talk about heavy duty. I weighed the entire package, and they came in at a whopping 0.3lbs. That's a lot for a couple of drive shafts. These things are awesome.

I don't know why it says they're not compatible with the Rubicon Edition. You have to cut away a little of the spur gear cover (if you even have it on) and it works fine. Had them on mine since day 1.

MIP Axial SCX10 Spline Center CVD Kit
Just got a set of these. All I can say is... WOW. These things are BEEFY. They feel like they should be on a 1/5 scale Baja instead of my little SCX10. Fit and finish was absolutely phenomenal. I'm quite certain that the axle housings or diff case would explode before these let loose. Paired them up with the Robinson Racing one piece diff/outdrives locker, Robinson metal Idler, and Robinson cast Delrin spur. Once I upgrade to the heavy duty axle gears with underdrive in the rear (wish Robinson made those too,) I may just have to pull the Tekin FXR/35T and put a RX8/Pro 4 3300kv in this beast. The drive train would most definitely handle it :-D

Assembly tips - there are two different sizes of grub screws included. The shorter ones go in the CVD joints and the longer ones go on the outdrives. MIP recommends using red loctite on them. Also, if you snug the front shaft all the way up against the center diff, you may interfere with your spur gear. Check for clearance and move it out on the outdrive ~2mm to clear it. Lube them up (I use synthetic marine grease everywhere on my crawler) and enjoy. You'll never have to worry about your center drive shafts again!

The Best upgrade, or the best that should be used in a high powered system.... but make sure that you have steel outdrives
