The Maverick iON XB 1/18 Scale Mini Buggy is completely Ready to Run out of the box, and only requires a small amount of accessories to be purchased separately to complete the package. Offering big fun in a small form factor, the iON XB will provide hours of endless fun at an incredible price point.

The Maverick iON kits lead the way with fantastic brand new top-spec features: a Maverick Element 1200mAh Ni-MH battery, MTX-248 2.GHz radio and a 2-in-1 waterproof MSRS-248 receiver/speed controller. The motor fitted in the Maverick iON XB is the reliable MM-28 370-size motor, so drivers can keep having fun for hours and hours! The 4WD drivetrain uses ball bearings throughout to give drivers maximum runtime and efficiency, and features a molded gear cover to keep dirt and debris away from the gears. Front and rear gear differentials easily transfer the motor's power to durable driveshafts and finally to the grippy rubber wheels at all four corners.

The Maverick iON XB features a complete set of gold-colored shock caps for the oil-filled shock absorbers. These add an extra bit of color and style to the chassis, just to make it look that much cooler! The suspension also features dual-wishbone independent suspension front and rear, with reliable C-hub style front hubs and extra-strong single-piece rear hubs. The strong MS-28 servo controls the steering through a dual-point steering system that features and integrated servo saver to protect the servo against crash damage.

Maverick Ion XB 1/18 RTR 4WD Electric Buggy
Bought this for my 4 year old daughter for Christmas to learn with. I charged the battery a few days before and figured I’d set the steering steering trim. The car pulled hard to the left even with the steering trim all the way to the right. Knowing it was for a 4 year old i shrugged it off and figured I could adjust later. Christmas morning I drove it out with a bow on top as her last present. She had been going to the track recently and had taken quite an interest. The thought of having her own car thrilled her to the extreme. Her first attempt at driving the car came later Christmas Day in the grandparents back yard . About a minute into it the car cartwheeled and broke both front shocks. Fast forward two weeks I was still unable to buy replacement shocks here in the states. After begging and pleading my daughter talked me into gluing the shocks back together. So after draining the oil and cleaning the front shocks I was able to glue them well enough to drive the car in the living room. Transmitter back in hand my daughter started driving the car around the living room as I was doing dishes. After about two minutes I heard the car stop... a few moments of silence.... and then my daughter start screaming!!!! The car had stoped working abruptly, and then my daughter picked it up to investigate. Unfortunately she didn’t know that the battery, esc, and motor were not only hot but smoldering. As she grabbed the car it scorched her hand. I ran over thinking perhaps she was holding the car and maybe wrapped her hair in the wheel. NOPE!!! It was now smoking hot!!! I ripped the body off and witnessed a blue flame coming from a small hole in the battery. Everything was smoking. I grabbed the car by a tire and ran outside. I tried to disconnect the battery but the connector burnt my fingers. Eventually the wires became so hot it melted the soilder joints and stoped smoking. And there you have it. You can literally enjoy reading this review longer than you can enjoy this RC car. However this review will not burn your children or your house........ Alll that aside, the cars in the mail headed back to amain. And from what I can tell over a phone call they will go above and beyond help me. Buy only if your looking for a “HOT” deal.)
