Kyosho DBX VE 2.0 Ready Set 1/10th 4WD Electric Off Road Buggy
I highly discourage anyone from buying this. It is cheap and flimsy (albeit fast and fun for the first 5 minutes). I literally broke this at least once every time I took it out. Have not broken a part on either of my other vehicles in my time owning them (sc5m and tlr 8ight e 3.0). I broke various plastic suspension pieces, bent several driveshafts, broke a ton of shock shafts, even bent the chassis by a few degrees and finally dumped the thing at a huge loss. The biggest annoyance was that the fragile plastic parts come in trees, so you have to buy the whole tree to replace the problem part. This is worth the value of the (decent) electronics and that's about it. They basically took 1/10 4wd buggy parts (which are not known for durability in their own class) and shoved them into a thin 1/8 size chassis. Overall I don't hate the idea if done right as a lightweight option but for a respected brand like Kyosho to put something like this out sours me on spending any more with them for something I want to race. Unfortunately, as a somewhat serious "weekend warrior" racer that has seen what their "real" cars can do at a competition level, I'll no longer consider buying anything from Kyosho. (If you're doubtful of this review, try finding a spare body for one of these before you purchase. Not a knock on amain at all as they're amazing and my go-to option, but this buggy is junk!

Kyosho DBX VE 2.0 Ready Set 1/10th 4WD Electric Off Road Buggy
Chassis is cheap bends easy and you will not find a replacement anywhere online. Most parts have been disc. You will need to buy stronger shock shafts for the front and get an tbone bumper or you will break the shocks on every crash. electronics are great and with 3s this thing flys. if you are a basher please do not buy, if you do slight rcing on a track and just drive around you'll be ok. If I had to chance to buy again I would just buy a slash and convert it to a buggy.

Kyosho DBX VE 2.0 Ready Set 1/10th 4WD Electric Off Road Buggy
I bought 2 DBX VE2, a few years ago, not through AMain, but I want thank AMain for their continued parts support, it is easy and so far had had all I need. My Son and I have enjoyed our DBXs immensely, they have a metal plate bottom, the rest is nylon or plastic.
They do maybe 35 mph on 2 series. Put an after market front bumper which stopped shock breakage. I forgot the source. Put 5K, 7K 2K
in diff front to back as what I read recommended. changed middle to 100K, spins wheels more. I wouldn't call these bashers, Road, track, normal dirt, fun.. Bought a Associated B44.2, used, very nice, these compare quite well. I many ways better, the brushless is strong and quick, 4 wheel drive is great, The battery pack we had trouble with, It browns out is the term, but if you don't have a high C battery, the ESC drops to a slow motion, way to soon. So a capacitor on the reciever and quite good battery solved this. Another way it is better than a one tenth, kit it is as wide as an eighth scale, don't tip over in corners easy. WE put ProLine Road Rage tires on, they are great for our use. The length is about one tenth, Kyosho calls one ninth. One other note, the front lower hinge pin has little plastic C Clips, they work, but the also disappear on disassembly. I got a few little washers from hardware and they do the job fine. Big Squid has a good review. Would I recommend it ? Humm..
With battery, maybe bumper, it does have a lot to offer. Parts support is basicly AMain, and Kyosho and one other..
If hard core basher, look elsewhere, stronger than my B44.2. I like them very well, am I biased, yes.. but they been great for us,
probably will have to wrench and tinker a bit, but unless you want a heavier over built flexing parts that well flex instead of break,
that's the way it is... But really they are a good compromise in this aspect. Have not broke much for us. Some, yep. But be ware of Parts Support, and and ESC wanting an High C battery. works well on 6500 70C.. I would give it a five, but can't. Ours needed that battery and parts support concerns, also late in model run, so how long will there be parts... so low of 3, high of 4, for us 4.
