This is JQ Products "THE eCar" 1/8 Electric Buggy Kit. After declaring "We will never make an electric 1:8th. They are stupid", JQProducts has taken their first step into the world of electric offroad. Heavily influenced by the successful Yellow Edition Nitro 1/8 Buggy, THE eCar uses the same front and rear gearbox assemblies as the nitro version, with only the chassis, left side guard, center differential/motor mount and dogbones being different. THE eCar features a typical e-Buggy chassis layout. This weight distribution and added weight of the 4S LiPo batteries in THE eCar helps to deliver improved handling qualities compared to it's nitro brother. This has been proven with race wins around the world.

JQ Products "THE eCar" 1/8 Electric Buggy Kit
This is the best 1/8th scale buggy I have ever driven. It feels a lot like my Kyosho MP9e tki but with better hair pin steering, and I mean MUCH better. It turns in better than any 1/8th I have ever driven (box stock too) and does not get loose on the backend. It holds the line through the on/off power transition well. I have owned Kyosho MP9e tki, Tekno EB48, and Losi 8ight 2.0 1/8th scale buggies (and had wheel time with Mugen XB7, X-ray XB9, serpent 2.0, Losi 3.0) and this is by far the best driving kit. It also seems to wear much better than my Kyosho based on longterm results from other local drivers. I was worried about the small shocks but they do not seem to be an issue at all and have no plans to change them out.

JQ Products "THE eCar" 1/8 Electric Buggy Kit
I've been running The eCar for well over a year now, and I love it. I've had a lot of success with this car and highly recommend it if you want to try something different. The wear is good and durability is great. I race the car one to two days every week and the only real (critical) parts I've had to replace since I bought the car were one set of front shock shafts (which are listed here as "updated", so new kits may have them already installed) and a set of front hingepins. Neither prevented me from finishing a race and have not been an issue since. The rear center dogbone is very short and sits on a slight angle so it goes through drive pins a bit quicker than the front center shaft so pick up some extra drive pins to replace when needed. The ecar drives great, and has a lot of steering which was exactly what I wanted from a new buggy. I've ran the kit setup (aside from shock pistons and oil) indoor and outdoor with success and never felt a need to change. I was concerned about the 14mm shocks and saw people recommending the JQP-B-272 10 hole pistons, so I installed them, and haven't thought twice about the shocks again short of changing oil wt for winter/summer temps. For the record I thought the car drove well with the stock pistons also. The White Edition eCar is a refined version of this car, but both drive well and are competitive with any ebuggy on the market. Build Tips: When building the car make sure the hingpins move freely in arms, most recommend reaming the hingepin holes with a 4mm reamer, or better yet a #20 drill bit which is .160 or 4.1mm size. This makes sure there's no binding in (especially) the front end. Also check for smooth movement on the steering knuckles / and c hubs, they tend to be very tight, so if the movement is restricted ream the holes (I use a 7/32 drill bit) where the bushings ride to make sure of smooth front end movement.
