JConcepts G-Locs 2.8" On-Road Truck Tires (2) (Yellow)
They're rated 'Yellow'; the hardest compound JC makes. So naturally, they aren't going to grip like the softer compounds. The good part about the lower traction on pavement is that you can whip the rear-end around at speed & the tires let it 'drift' around 180° without flipping the car over like it does with softer, higher traction compounds. Especially on the newer "textured concrete" streets. (Experience talking). I put them on the suggested JC 2.8 Rulux Wheels (VERY Minimal Ballooning). Zero mechanical clearance problems on Slash 2WD or 4WD with 2.8 Rulux Wheels. They widen the stance 5/8", but are still tucked under the fenders when using the JC Scalpel body they were designed for. (They do stick out a 1/4" from under the fenders on the stock Slash body). I keep a 'hash mark' charge record on the side of my Li-Po's, so I know I have put 80 fully charged 2C 5000mAh Li-Po's thru these tires on Gravel, blacktop & textured concrete streets before they were completely bald & ballooning. My Stats: 2WD Slash. Rear-end heavy. With a FLM full aluminum tranny/FLM sealed aluminum diff and all steel gears. SC10 4x4 13mm Rear Shocks. A Sidewinder3 4600kV 4-pole motor applying the torque thru a 23t Pinion/83t Spur = 32MPH. JC's Tire Compound Ratings: (Yellow=Medium)(White=Medium/Soft)(Orange=Soft - Black/Blue Groove Conditions)(Blue=Soft - All Conditions)(Gold=Clay Soft)(Green=Super Soft) They will lower your top speed because they're 1/4" shorter that stock Traxxas tires. Most SC tires average 4" tall - G-Locs are low profile at 3.75" tall. I have not paced my Slash with regular, full sized SC tires, so I can't tell you the MPH difference that 1/4" makes. Experience tells me that it should be about 2 or 3 MPH. I'll check that out when I get the chance and will add that data to this review.

My M2 Badlands grip better on concrete and asphalt. And regardless of the cute little video they do balloon. They do look cool, and the low profile is nice, but the performance is missing. Used on an over-weight, over-powered 2WD Slash.
