This is the JConcepts Aluminum Steering Bell Crank Set. Compatible with the B5, B5M and T5M, this servo saver-less aluminum steering system is CNC-machined and replaces the stock plastic bell-cranks. Available in blue or black anodized finish, these bellcranks sport a machined chamfered silver edges and engraved JC logos. The aluminum, light-weight assembly provides a more rigid steering system with increased steering feel and response. The fit of the bell-cranks has also been improved by the positioning of the bearings to help eliminate binding when assembled.

Light-weight construction, designed with additional clearance below the drive arm to allow additional space for personal transponder or add-on weight considerations. The steering bell-cranks include 2 thin crush tubes (black) which should be placed in between the bearings on the stock plastic or aftermarket aluminum steering rack. During assembly it is important to align the crush tubes into place and while securing the parts together, always use a light amount of thread locking compound on any thread which assembles into aluminum.

Features:

  • CNC Machined
  • Light-weight, rigid steering feel and response
  • Anodized with chamfered silver edging
  • Blue or black color options
  • Laser engraved JC logos

JConcepts Aluminum Steering Bell Crank Set (Black)
Unfortunately, I think JCI has chosen looks over function. Today I had a small crash with my T5M and found both front tires aimed to the right. With both tires affected there had to be something wrong with the steering. My JCI steering bell crank was bent below the ball stud leading to the servo! Badly bent! Comparing aluminum bell cranks from JCI and AE, the JCI unit is thinner near the ball stud than the AE unit. Apparently too thin. Later, I had the same incident happen with my B5M; a simple crash resulting in both my front tires aiming askew..... I haven`t checked the damage yet. But I think I know what I`ll find.
