HPI Sport 3 Flux RTR 1/10 Touring Car
I very much like this car. For a $330 RTR it's a great value especially considering the motor and esc included with it. It handles well and is a blast to drive. I've only been out with it a handful of times so far but I've put it through its paces. Yes I've noticed the issue with rocks jamming the steering rack but it only happens when I'm turning and on a dirty surface. It needs some thick diff fluid both front and rear in order to reduce "diffing out", but when running on surfaces that touring cars are designed for this car is pretty solid. The rear spoiler is functional, it cuts the lift that the body generates. I couldn't get much over 45 without losing control without the spoiler.

Cons:
- Bearings have melted on the front hubs, seems like the plastic wheel hexes touch the bearing shield, generating lots of heat and destroying bearings. I've ordered some boca bearings and metal hexes to help.
- Car lacks positive caster and adjustability. There are shims under the pivot blocks toward the back of the front differential but removing them isn't enough. I ended up grinding and trimming the pivot blocks for max caster which has helped but I wish there was more adjustment.
- Body posts up front are cut from the factory so you can't raise the body any higher without buying new ones.
- Steering rack horns should be slightly raised off the chassis for better clearing of rocks.
- Replacement parts are very difficult to acquire, aftermarket/upgrade option parts are virtually non existent.

That last part is the real killer, if I had known it would be this impossible to upgrade and even replace a broken part I probably wouldn't have purchased the car. Be that as it may, it's a problem with the company rather than the car itself but it certainly detracts from the overall experience.

Update: GPS measured a top speed of 58.0mph with a 3s lipo.

Update 2: GPS measured 73.4mph with 38T pinion 64T spur and 3s lipo.

HPI Sport 3 Flux RTR 1/10 Touring Car
So I bought this car on a whim and started driving it. Upon initial ownership i was satisfied with the build quality, speed, and handling; i quickly learned chassis upgrades were nearly none exsistent with the exception of the yeah racing aluminum chassis component upgrade. So considering the fact i didnt want to high speed crash it allot i threw drift tires on it and the low speed driving characteristics of this car is great. Also, one day i raced my brothers car (08 chevy cobalt) and he ran it over from rear to front. With no new parts the car pieced together just fine after being run over at approx 50 mph. This car is amazing and i have no worrries about its durability anymore, even completelty stock. Im excited to see what i can build this thing to become.

HPI Sport 3 Flux RTR 1/10 Touring Car
I was looking for a moderately priced on road car of good design and quality for racing with friends on unprepared surfaces (parking lot racing). We knew the open belt design of most modern track cars was going to be a maintenance problem but didn't want to settle for a dated model. We bought these and are so far super happy. On 2S lipo they are quite fast right out of the box and fairly well set up. It's is geared well for a big / wide open track. The ESC is smooth and easy to set up. The tires are gripped, durability is yet to be seen. The stock radio doesn't feel all that great in the hand but works good for an RTR radio and even has end point adjustments. The stock servo is under powered and the only reason for the four star rating instead of five. It did not center well and was slow which in a car this fast can get you in trouble in a hurry. I replaced the servo with one that has double the torque and speed now it drives great.
Overall great job by HPI on this one!
