This is the HPI Savage XS Flux SS Micro Monster Truck Kit. Starting with the base Savage XS, HPI supplies all the chassis components in a DIY build-it-yourself kit. Break out the tools, turn up the music and hide the phone - it's building time! HPI's fully illustrated instruction manual takes you step by step to build the Savage XS to your exact specs. Full-size part references and exploded views help you get the kit built quickly and without fuss.
As a bonus, the Savage XS SS includes fantastic option parts to get you started on the customizations! For some extra bling you get aluminum shock absorbers with orange-anodized tops, bottoms and shock collars. A set of front and rear universal driveshafts give you extra efficiency and durability. For quick camber adjustments you also get a full set of adjustable turnbuckles. You can even add extra option parts as you build up the kit!
Finally, you get to choose the exact electronics that go in the truck. Choose a quick servo for fast, nimble action, or go with a powerful servo for stunt work. Fit in a 2S-capable motor/speed controller set for all-around action and speed run, or go totally mental with a 3S-capable combination! It's your choice with the Savage XS SS!

HPI Savage XS Flux SS Micro Monster Truck Kit
The Hpi Savage XS SS is an awesome truck. It is a kit so you do have to build it but it comes with some upgrades like metal shocks and the clear body. When you are building the kit, the manual shows you exactly what to do. The first part of the build is very smooth but some parts dont fit together exactly right. The differential bearly fit in the rear transmission case and I had to really work it in. Controling the truck is a handfull. It tends to bounce around and it swirvs when doing high speed runs. After about three runs on 2s lipo the pinion was stripped. It is metal to metal in the transmission and the pinion is not hardened. With the 28 tooth pinion the motor was over 180 degrees! I got a 26 tooth hardened pinion and that fixed my pinon problems. The other thing that I didn't like about this truck was the turnbuckles. Hpi did not fix the problem that they had where thay would pop off. I lost one from going over a small jump and didn't even want to fix it because it had popped off so many times. No other issues with the truck after those two things. The truck also has good things about it. It is VERY fun to drive! Its also really durable and fast with a 3S Lipo. It jumps really good but it has very strong brakes because of the 4wd. I would reccomend this to anyone who wants a basher without spending 500+ dollars.

AWSOME TRUCK FOR BASHING, and even handels alright. I thought it would flip with one slight turn but its fine. The kit went together well but make sure you read the instructions well, as on multiple occasions i had to take apart a main bit of the truck just because i forgot to add a part in. The only reason i'm giving this kit 4 not 5 stars is that, my steering rack was off so I had too saw of a bit of plastic because it was binding with the front bulkhead. I highly recommend you get this for someone for christmas!

An awesome kit... tough as nails, easy assembly, easy to read instructions... one of the best build kits I have ever put together... the shocks are the highest quality and simple to assemble plus 80wt comes in the kit which makes the suspension stiffer plus you get to make it your way...Transmission comes completely assembled with stock gearing..just add motor/pinion...& install I chose Castle Mamba Max with a 3800kv and a 90C 2S 5000mAh battery and stock pinion.Highly recommended for newbies and pros

HPI Savage XS Flux SS Micro Monster Truck Kit
This is a great little kit. Straight forward assembly & quality components. The alloy shock work very well & look great. My only complaint is the quality of the cap head bolts. I had to discard at least a dozen of them due to the hex rounding off before the bolt is fully tightened. This is quite frustrating as it can be difficult to remove the damaged bolt... The rest of the parts are great, all look heavy duty, especially the driveline. I am running a Novak Havoc Pro with a Ballistic 8.5T motor on 2S & this thing flies. It's worth noting that the standard tires have next to no grip, so you might want to replace them right away. Overall a great kit, highly recommended!
