HPI Racing Savage X 4.6 1/8 RTR Monster Truck
I agree with Troy, This is the monster truck I wish I'd of bought first; before the Revo 3.3, before the MGT 4.6, and before the MGT 8.0. The Savage has more acceleration, more brakes, a more precise owner's manual, and better looks!

HPI Racing Savage X 4.6 1/8 RTR Monster Truck
This is my first RC truck and RC experience. The truck does not come ready-to-run as advertised out of the box. Although it will run, I had the expectation that little had to be done to get the truck in shape. From my experience you need to check a few things before really gunning the truck. Check that the spur gear has the proper mesh and is really tightened down. I burnt my spur gear before I was done with the tuning process of the break in period. The spur gear was not tightened enough from factory which caused the slipper pad to slip and melt. Good thing plastic spur gears are cheap. Right now I've finished over a gallon of gas with no spur problems. Upgrade your glow igniter. The stock one with the battery is pure crap. Get one with a power gauge. It will save you tons of frustration and get your truck running better. Swap out the front and rear sway bar mounts with this part number# 102520 to keep your hinge pins in place or else your upper control arm and axle dogbones will pop out and you might lose the hinge pin or even the dogbone. The truck runs really rich from factory so lean it up to get it started or you'll be pulling your hair out at first. Other than that, once you do the above mentioned and your truck runs flawlessly, you'll be pulling smiles from ear to ear! This truck is an awesome basher! Although I've had no experience with any other brand. For a beginner like me, this truck is soooo easy to work on. For fun I've taken the transmission, front and rear differentials apart and put them back together with no problems! Even with my initial bad experience I would finally rate this truck a 5 of 5 stars.

HPI Racing Savage X 4.6 1/8 RTR Monster Truck
Hard core! Best truck i have owned. I just bought this truck not too long ago it was the last years version but almost the same thing just a few more minor adjustments. The only thing i would have to say for someone purchasing this truck would be buy an extra one way bearing or too. Its a MUST! DON'T waste your money on a traxxas.
