This is a pack of two Hot Racing 105mm Aluminum Heavy Duty Big Bore Shocks. These Hot Racing 105mm big bore threaded body aluminum shocks are for use with many Traxxas and other 1/10 scale off-road vehicles using 105mm length shocks.

I've used these shocks on a big rock v3 an an outcast 4s I've never had a problem no leaks no bending great shock for 1/10th scale monster trucks or sc trucks keep it up hot racing I love your arrma parts.

Performance: 10 out of 10 for the first run 2 out of 10 later since all of the oil came out. In addition i have lost one of the upper shock screw, spacers and can not find spares so i have to buy a full set of shocks

I bought the additional shock tuning set x2 each, (front and back) because I race x2 Slash 4x4s for the purpose of testing out different setups to determine what's fast and what isn't. I tried every combination of shock springs with the HR Aluminum Big-Bore shocks and took notes on each combination, I.e., blue, red, yellow, etc., front to back, and back to front, in literally every combination you can imagine. With all the spring variations I tried, nothing came close to performing well. They're far too firm to perform well in the outdoor off-road arena.

On straightaways, without adjusting the steering, the stiffness was so sharp and harsh that the truck felt like driving a cinderblock on wheels. It was impossible to keep straight on a well-maintained track. The worst thing about the shocks themselves AND the optional HR tuning springs is that no matter the combination of spring/s, hitting jumps and performance in the air is N-O-T a thing. My trucks would hit the lip and literally slingshot the truck in awkward ways. Cornering was harsh as well, not even close to the performance of the Pro-Line Big-Bore Shocks. The aforementioned combinations didn't help; running the softest springs was still too stiff to perform adequately.

On-road applications may serve you better but overall, as the adage goes, you get what you pay for. This is especially true in the RC world where if you want an amazing setup, you're going to pay for it. That's the bottom line. These are cheap as hell compared to the Pro-Line Big Bore shocks (Slash 4x4 version), but they look gorgeous. The trucks never looked so damn good so imagine my excitement when I showed up at the club track to practice with buddies. I showed off the renovated machines and everyone agreed it was a clean setup, but as soon as I started driving on them the trucks were all over the place. I had a full day at the track to test these thoroughly, not just a romp down the street at my house, but from 6 AM - 8 PM. I spent most of the time trying to figure out the HR shocks but in the end, I switched back to the Pro-Line shocks and the ease of driving quick and precise was beyond noticeable. If you're an off-road junkie, like me, you're going to be disappointed; it's the nature of the beast.

Pay attention to the reviews from those who are obviously veterans or more knowledgeable than others because there's a plethora of people on the RC websites that don't review the products, at all. All they do is talk shit about AMain Hobbies, the shipping rates/timeframes (when it's the couriers' fault and has N-O-T-H-I-N-G to do with AMain), customer service, RC Techs., and you name it. So many of them don't address the product, or it's clear the individual leaving the review can't follow the directions with the most simple applications. The result is that they ruin the product and blame the company. We all know AMain is the best, so avoid those like the plague and get on board with those who know what's going on. For the off-road world, these shocks don't cut it.

Do yourselves a favor and upgrade to the best -- Pro-Line Big-Bore Shocks. I'm giving V-E-R-Y generous 3-of-5 stars because I feel they're in the middle of the road, (pardon the pun) when compared to the other suspension setups on the market. And one can't deny the aesthetics of HRs shocks. They really liven up the look of whatever vehicle you can use them with, but I'd never recommend them to anyone for performance reasons.

These are a nice upgrade for a Traxxas truck that has plastic shocks caps and small diameter pistons. These are much more durable top to bottom and unlikely to strip out or get bent up. Out of the package, There are no instructions, so these aren't the best if you are new to RC cars. You need oil - which isn't included. I got 40wt shock oil and it worked pretty well with the springs. The springs are hard, and gave a harsh ride to my Slash 4x4. I put the soft ones from the truck on these, which were a slightly tight fit, but allow for better turning grip.

I like them the most because they have a bleed screw at the top for a hassle-free setup.
