Super easy to fly, land and it’s cheap! I doubt you will find a better rtf plane for the price. Won’t do rollovers but does decent loops. Has survived some brutal crashes. Motors are a pain to replace.

This plane can take a horrible beating! I strongly recommend this as a first rc plane for anyone and everyone. Good battery life, cheap batteries, charge quickly and very very forgiving. Also, as you progress it can do flips if you dive first to build speed, and it can fly inverted but it's very challenging. I've had it out in winds up to 10mph but make sure you're a confident pilot first.

Delightful beginner plane or lazy evening flyer.

I bought this to add to an AeroScout 2 as I don't have room close to home for the scout, and I'm knocking the rust off my thumbs.

I put it up a couple times in a gentle breeze, and was disappointed but not surprised. I forgot micros need absolute still conditions. And then they become little darlings in the sky. This little guy is pretty hard to upset, and will putter around at half throttle right by your face. It is a joke to launch and land, and really offered what I wanted in terms of a friendlier less serious craft. I also managed to catch a wing tip and whirl it into the ground and it took it in stride. I sincerely miss the Champ HZ used to offer for roughly the same price, but this is also great and unique with the twin props.

Also props to my local Middletown HT, who swapped a non functioning RAGE plane for this one, no problems or questions asked.

Bought 1 for my Dad, the Delta Ray Firebird was a bit to much for him. The battery is a bit finnicky. Don't over charge it. Other than that its pretty industuctable and it won't flip over in a hard turn. For somebody with zero experience this planes a great start. If you play alot of flight-sims like War Thunder on Realistic, you can probably skip past it, but stick with the SAFE technology. When I say skip past I mean to something like a Delta Ray. That plane you really want is still 1 plane away. I dropped it down to a 4 star because it only wants to turn left. Not sure if it a lemon or it was designed that way. The right engine gets more power than the left engine. I've trimmed to all out but you really have to force it to go right. On the plus side my Dads able to fly the Delta Ray now being able to turn right made his day.

HobbyZone Duet RTF Electric Airplane (523mm)
I bought this a while ago and it only lasted 2 days. After flying it in high winds- not recommended- I crashed it into pavement, snapping the nose cone off. I took it out later, when it had calmed down, and it was a blast. However, as I was pulling out of a dive, the wing snapped CLEAN OFF. The plane fell to the ground and I took it inside to glue it back together. I took it out for another flight, but I crashed into a bush after a sudden gust of wind. I switched off the tx and ran over to the bush. When I pulled it out, the propellors were stuck at full throttle and it smelled awful. I ripped the battery out, and when I opened the fuselage (its held together by tape) one of the wires on a circuit board was burnt-out. Overall, this is not something I recommend buying and I will not be buying from Horizon anytime soon.

Overall rating:

Looks: 7/10- slick livery, looks sporty

Performance: 8/10- Only 3 channels, but for a plane like this, it flew decently. I was even able to pull off a few loops and dives, and flew inverted for a while.

Durability: 0/10- Lasted 2 days before it went up in smoke. 2 DAYS.

Ease of use: 5/10- Impossible to fly in the tiniest of winds. Controls are pretty intuitive, but it lacks any form of assisted flight mode. They claim it comes with a “flight assistant” or something like that, but I could not find how to turn it on.

Features: 2/10- This might be a little harsh for something costing $80 when I bought it, but the battery was out of shape after one crash, and the radio felt even cheaper than you would expect. 1 150mah battery took 1 hour to charge. The fuselage felt flimsy and proved to be flimsier.

Quality: 4/10- decals were peeling out of the box, flight battery was stuck in its little pocket, and the linkage rod had come undone. Batteries fell out every time I landed, and it even fell off midflight.

Overall rating: 3/10- Fun while it lasted, but that wasn’t long. Horizon needs some better quality control. I don’t know if I got a lemon, but the fact that it lasted 2 days speaks for itself.
