HobbyZone Carbon Cub S 2 1.3m RTF Basic Electric Airplane (1300mm)
The Carbon Cub S 2 is my second R/C aircraft. I started with the Sport Cub S and, after many flights, invested in the Carbon Cub. It's a GREAT airplane and handles very well. I advise new pilots to use SAFE/Beginner mode extensively for takeoff and approach/landing. Plan your flying in advance, read the manual and ask questions. (The staff at HobbyTown is a great source of knowledge and have been very patient with all my questions.) or the local R/C club. The Carbon Cub can fly faster than a true beginner might be comfortable with but it flies great on 1/2-2/3 throttle! Dead stick/idle thrust landings are a pleasure. I did the Flap modification and that has enabled much shorter takeoff rolls, slower approach speeds and shorter/softer landings. Good handling in 8-10 mph winds. Highly recommended.

HobbyZone Carbon Cub S 2 1.3m RTF Basic Electric Airplane (1300mm)
Amazing plane! Have been flying an older Switch Trainer and this one handles some much better in the air. Very smooth, very responsive. First flights were in wind and was very stable with not one crash. Physics for this plane and the switch in RealFlight 9.5s are FLAWLESS, practice there and save a fortune on parts.

HobbyZone Carbon Cub S 2 1.3m RTF Basic Electric Airplane (1300mm)
Super stoked about learning to fly. This plane, with it’s size and gyro features, have been a real plus. We’ve only done hand takeoffs, and what could be best described as crash landings. None of that is the fault of the plane, just user inexperience.

This kit has absolutely everything you need to fly. The included G1 Spektrum 3S 2200mAH LiPo and charger are a great add-in (Wish the charger had more wattage—To shorten the charge time). For an RTR transmitter., the included Spektrum unit is better than expected in quality.

I chose this plane because of the parts availability, WHEN we break it. A complete wing set is around $50. The prop is inexpensive. Batteries with EC3 or IC3 connectors are abundant enough. And the micro servos are easily replaced with like or alternatives (If needed).
