Wow, this is a perfect craft for one just starting out. If you want to just sail on the wind, learn how to fly fixed wing or, go FPV for some great sights then this is your craft. extreamly long flight times and easy take off and landings. This is your craft.

HobbyZone AeroScout S 1.1m Basic BNF Electric Airplane (1095mm)
I purchased this plane because I wanted something a bit more substantial than my UMX planes, but more portable than the other plane I have in the 1m-class, the E-Flite Valiant. I specifically was NOT looking for something ultra-fast or ultra-maneuverable, but rather a nice, relaxing park flyer that would provide great flight times and very little chance of losing control. The AeroScout definitely delivers. It takes about 10 minutes to assemble (you can see my assembly video on YouTube - https://youtu.be/mb8RjaImM0w!), and it's also very easy to remove the wings for transport. Another nice feature is the huge foam landing gear, which may not look scale, but allow for taking off from virtually any surface. Short grass is no problem at all. Also, because this plane glides so well (thanks to its big wingspan and very low weight), I get 15 minutes of flight from each 2200MAh pack.
Note that this model comes both in a RTF and a BNF version, which ironically both require assembly, so neither is actually ready to fly. Instead, what RTF means is that you get the radio, battery, and charger with the RTF version, and the combo deal is quite good (saving you over $50 versus buying separately), so if you don't already have a radio, definitely go with the RTF version. Another advantage of that version is that Horizon Hobby appears to be shipping a lot more of it, as the BNF version has been sold out virtually all of summer 2019, and I got in on what was likely the last shipment of just a couple of units.
One little tip regarding assembly - the aileron servo leads are not keyed, so it's easy to install them in reverse whenever you're re-attaching the wing, which will lead to them not working. What you have to do is match the colors up as best you can - they unfortunately aren't coded correctly either, but going dark to dark and light to light works (I believe it's brown to black and white to yellow).
