The Hobbywing Xerun XR8 SCT Brushless ESC/3660D G2 Motor Combo is a great choice for short course trucks, monster trucks, and other heavy duty 2S-3S LiPo applications.
The XR8 SCT is the first 1/8 scale competition ESC which can work the full-sensored mode at all times when paired with a Hobbywing matching motor. Perfect for 1/10 4WD Short Course Truck, Monster Trucks and of course 1/8th scale, the XR8 SCT ESC boasts full sensored operation, 140A output, electronic switch, 6V/7.4V switchable BEC and wireless programming capabilities.
The Hobbywing XERUN SCT 3660SD G2 Sensored 3200kV Brushless Motor is a 4-pole power house, great for heavy-duty short course, truck and monster truck sensored 2S-3S applications. Because this motor uses a 5mm diameter motor shaft, it requires pinion gears with a 5mm bore.

- Innovative 4-pole-8-magnet "staggered pole" rotor (Hobbywing-patented) with low cogging effect and torque pulsation greatly improves control feel around corners.
- Built-in chip for making the motor be easily identified by HOBBYWING ESCs. When pairing it with a HW 1/8th sensored ESC (i.e. XR8 SCT/Plus), the motor can work in the “sensored” mode at all times with gr eat output linearity after the identification. Hobbywing Xerun XR8 SCT Brushless ESC/3660SD G2 Motor Combo (3200kV)
Using this combo with a losi LMT. At the beginning it's a bit confusing on where to plug the program box, but it's in the fan connector. I already have many hobbywing combos so I went with xr8 as it was already compatible with the program card I already had. It's easy to setup. Just be careful as with any other electronics, if the motor and the battery cannot work with high punch rates, better go with safer lower settings.
*UPDATE*
This beast barely gets hot, even running on 3s, under heavy sunlight. Gives me around 60km/h on my Losi LMT, everything stock.

Best motor/ESC combo I've ever run in my Senton, very tunable and talk about torch and speed, no trade off's with all the available tuning combinations.

Hobbywing Xerun XR8 SCT Brushless ESC/3660SD G2 Motor Combo (3200kV)
This is the second combo with the 3200kV motor that I’ve purchased. First combo was to repair my youngest son’s Arrma Senton 3S BLX 4x4 truck. The second just purchased is to repair my middle son’s same model truck. For two years, this has been abused, bashed, raced, and performed perfectly.
Motor and ESC have more than adequate power for the heavy Arrma Pro4 1/10 truck. I’m using the stock pinion & spur gearing count (I think it’s 14/54) in both trucks. Purchased a new Robinson Racing hardened steel 5mm bore pinion gear, to replace the factory one. The motor and ESC both remain much cooler than the factory Arrma branded equipment did.
This combo comes with the motor feedback cable, a spare fan, a fan mounted on the ESC, the motor lead wires (Must be soldered onto both the motor and ESC-Not supplied connected in the ESC from the factory), battery +/- wires (Again, not soldered onto the ESC), and a cable for connecting a programmer. You need to supply whatever brand/model of battery (Male end) connector that your battery uses, and solder that on, too.
No programmer is included, but the Hobbywing LED unit is very affordable. You don’t need the programmer, as the ESC is ready to have your transmitter endpoints taught upon startup. This is all handled with both the power button, and a second smaller button, next to the power button. It’s very straightforward, and easy to do (With the included instructions).
When I purchased the first of these Hobbywing combos, I was comparing this against a Castle Creations Mamba X SCT combo. After running the Hobbywing in the first truck, with no issues, I didn’t hesitate to buy the same thing, for the second truck. The XR8 ESC was the right fit, for the heavy truck (Over the 1/10 scale ESC). The big 4-pole motor has tons of power. The factory motor was 3300kV (3200?), so this was the perfect motor to replace the factory one.

Great power for the price. Replaced my slash 4x4 stock brushless system with this combo. Running stronger and cooler with new setup. If you don't have the lcd program card pick one up as the led program card won't work with this esc.
