This is the Hobbywing 4274SD G2 Sensored Brushless Motor from Hobbywing, suited for us with most 1/8 Off-Road Buggy and Truggy options.

Full-Sensored Mode
The first motor (in the world) with a built-in chip which helps the ESC identify it's a Hobbywing motor (when pairing with XERUN XR8/XR8 Plus) and form a power system which can work in the "Full-Sensored" mode to provide users with improved performance and smoother control.

Note: this motor is also applicable to other ESCs, but it cannot work in the Sensored mode at all times.

Turbo Timing Technology
When pairing this motor with HW XERUN XR8 series of ESCs, the Turbo Timing, which is widely adopted in 1/10th scale on-road racing, can be enabled and unleash the utmost power of the motor.

Bi-Directional Adjustable Timing
The bi-directional adjustable mechanical timing, can meet the different power demands of various applications. Bi-Direction refers to CW and CCW operation of the motor.

Advanced Hall Sensing System
The first "error-free" Hall sensing system adopted by this motor guarantees users the steady operation in the "Full-Sensored" mode. A separate high-speed high precision encoder always output the clean signals (indicate the rotor) and not be affected by other signal interference.

Low Cogging Torque
The first motor adopted the innovative 4-pole 8-magnet "staggered pole" rotor has extremely low cogging effect and low torque pulsation (it's reduced by 85% when comparing with traditional 1/8th scale motors).

Features:

  • CNC-machined aluminum ribbed heatsink case with the sensor port covered by silicon O-ring seal guarantees users the effective heat dissipation and dust prevention
  • 4 M3 mounting holes and 2 M4 mounting holes on the front case are applicable to various motor mounts
  • New-style U gold-plated tabs with extremely-low internal resistance allows users to solder output wires easily and firmly on
  • The use of double insulated windings (240°C R-rated), NMB bearings from Japan, and the high-intensity adhesive (340°C) guarantees users the outstanding performance and super durability

Hobbywing Xerun 4274SD G2 Sensored Brushless Motor (2250kV)
This thing RIPS, SERIOUS power in combination with 4S and the Hobbywing 1/8 ESC, runs cool and smooth, perfect for a fun basher monster truck to a dedicated race buggy, this can do it. Fit and finish was beautiful, solder tabs are just right for 12 gauge wire, has both M3 and M4 tapped mount holes for hardware options to fit any 1/8 or large 1/10 vehicle. The low cog torque gives your car a very nice, controllable coast and when you need them the brakes are smooth and powerful.

Hobbywing Xerun 4274SD G2 Sensored Brushless Motor (2250kV)
I just picked up one of these at my LHS to install in my new TLR 8ight-XTE kit that I got a couple weeks ago. I paired it with the Hobbywing XR8 Plus ESC, Protek 170TBL servo, and Im running the Protek 4s 6500mah and 6s 4800 LiHV packs. Ive built 7 or 8 new 1/10 rigs over the last few months that I installed the HW XR10 Pro G2 / V10 6.5t and 7.5t combos which were the first HW products I've used, and because Ive been so impressed with the quality, performance and reviews of them, I decided that I would give the bigger 1/8 stuff a try. I've got 4 Tekno rigs with the Tekin RX8 combos in with T8 motors from 1900kv to 2650kv which have been awesome but wanted to try this Hobbtwing motor paired with the XR8 esc because I like the 8 or 9 HW XR10 Pro G2 combos Ive put in all my new 1/10 kits ive built in the last few months.

All I can say is that at all box stock esc settings, on 6s its pretty much impossible to use anywhere close to 100% full throttle without flipping over or getting to a speed that is too high for a truggy and the wind and big tires cause it to catch flight or lose control, and I tried pinions from 15t to 22t, as i typically run 18t to 20t when Im just messing around away from the track. On 6s without dialing things back on the esc, this is a high speed crash waiting to happen haha. I would say that for 95% of people, 4s is where its at for truggies or buggies that arent set up for onroad/speed runs.

Anyway, I wouldnt hesitate to buy more of these motors for future builds and now after having over 20 packs through it, its still running 100% perfect.

Hobbywing Xerun 4274SD G2 Sensored Brushless Motor (2250kV)
First there is a typo on the motor size. It said 42x68 when it should be 42x74. Just got it today and I'll find out how well it handles next week.
