Hobbywing EZRun Max8 G2 Waterproof Brushless ESC/Motor Combo
I use this combo in HB Truggy and race at my local track. Was unsure how it would do for racing, but so far it is doing great. Smooth and consistent being it's sensored. Has plenty of power to keep up with other high dollar combo's.

Hobbywing EZRun Max8 G2 Waterproof Brushless ESC/Motor Combo
This is my first aftermarket combo as I just go into the hobby a few months ago. As a first combo, I was very satisfied with it. It was in my Sledge and it did what I wanted it to do. However, I didn't want to push the system too hard. My sledge is heavier than most 1/8 scale truggies so I opted to run a Max6 1650kv combo and save the Max8 for something a little lighter. It's fast, smooth, and very responsive. It did run a little how, which again, is likely due to the mass it was moving (not sure). Gearing was 15/52 at the time. Max6 1650 is running 20/46 with temps not going above 150F if that says something. But I have absolutely not complaints. New ESC fan moves a ton of air and works great. Love the 8.4v BEC option as well.

Hobbywing EZRun Max8 G2 Waterproof Brushless ESC/Motor Combo
Works really well, I love the 6s compatibility and how they solders on the connector for you. I'm not sure if the motor is rated for 6s though, I don't think so. I put it in my maxx and it works perfectly. would recommend

Hobbywing EZRun Max8 G2 Waterproof Brushless ESC/Motor Combo
Motor Burned out in less than a year. Can't Find what I assume is the rotor for replacement.(Large Silver Piece that goes down the center/Coating on it was burned up.) Was only like 75F outside and wasn't running it too hard in an Outcast EXB 6s. Even run a high powered fan over it.

Hobbywing EZRun Max8 G2 Waterproof Brushless ESC/Motor Combo
New, out of the box, the programmer with the latest firmware could never connect with the ESC so I couldn't program it. I ran it to see if the programmer would connect after on/off cycles, and it never did. I sent it in to Hobbywing, and they said I damaged it by running it. No warranty. I still use that same programmer successfully on all my other ESCs.
