This is a very impressive setup. Running on a Traxxas Slash 4x4, cogging is very very minimum. Motor and ESC Temps stay impressively cool running a 54T steel Spur and 18T steel pinion on 3S the highest temps I’ve seen so far motor 127F and ESC 132F and that was running 2-3S packs back to back. Very happy with this combo! Would buy again.
Powerhouse of a system running one in a Hobao hyper 10sc converted into a 1/8 scale buggy on 3s with 16t pinion stupid fast easily doing 60 mph , motor temps are barely 140f.
As described, a very nice combo...quality unit with generous extras included. Easy to install, easy to program and fun as ___ to operate. Well worth the cost. Ordered a Castle at the same time and returned the Castle.
This motor and esc combo is just what I needed in my SMT10! It is a beast on 3s with a 15t pinion. Ran multiple packs through it and never over heated. Would highly recommend this combo and will definitely purchase again!
Outstanding. Replaced the stock Velenion setup in my sons Rustler 4x4 vxl after the ESC began to fail, incorrectly activating the low voltage shutdown early. The Hobbywing ECS and motor both run cooler. The combo came with a mounting plate that bolts directly to the mounting points for the previous ESC making putting the new one in a breeze. The extra 500 rpm/volt on the Hobbywing motor is cool too. (4000 vs 3500). Remember to buy a set of 5mm shaft (32P) pinions to go with it, the motor only has a 3.7 mm shaft. The LED programming box is worth it as well, plus it doubles as a battery voltage checker.
It's a very good upgrade for my Arrma Typhon Mega, no reinforcents or tranny upgrades. At 2s with a 17t 48p gear, it provides peppy acceleration and good speed. Easy to install and set up. And the price? Unbeatable for the awesome quality.
Used this hobbywing combo in a crt .5 brushless conversion. Great results--63 mph on 1st run on a 2200mah 3s lipo. Absolutely love hobbywing esc and motors!!
Another great system from Hobbywing. Is powerful and is very easy to use and works great. Runs a little warm if you use it on 3s in a large short course but would be perfect for buggies on 3s.
I love this hobbywing combo. This was my first hobbywing system ever and I am really impressed. This motor does cog a bit more than the traxxaas system but thats only from the start. I mainly bought this because I was building a dune car and I thought this system would be the best for it and omg, this system on 3s, not 4s, is just a monster, I don't have a 4s that will fit but I cant wait for that.
(It will not say verified owner because I bought it on a different account)
Very peppy little system I mean has some guts to it
I purchased this combo for a slash vxl upgrade ...... i have only run it a handful of times on 4s with 17/54 gearing have gps speeds of 68mph with traction issues on top end I firmly believe that 70mph is possible once tire issues are. Figure out . Motor has monster torque and after back to back hard pulls motor and esc were barely warm my goal is 80 mph I believe it is obtainable with this motor esc combo ....... highly recommended as a brushed/VXL UPGRADE !!!!!
So far, so good. Installed in a 4x4 Slash and it just bolted right in. Motor has tons of power and I have not had any heating issues (using stock gears) so far. The unit I purchased had XT90 connector already solder on to the ESC, it did not specify that in the product description.
This is the perfect system for my Hpi RS4 Sport3 Rally build. The 4000kv motor is a good balance of speed and torque but also leaves some wiggle room for more aggressive gearing. I picked the SCT version for the bigger motor shaft and stronger esc.
this combo is advertised as a short course truck set up.. which im sure it is if you have 4x4 sct or a car with the motor very close to the esc. I have a 2wd slash with the low center of gravity chassis and the factory wires are way to short to mount the esc in the factory esc location. then when i contact both hobbywing and amain hobbies they tell me to "just extend the wires", or you could let me know that it wont work in applications such as mine, as splices look like sh!t. not impressed with this product or the responses to my pleas for a remedy that doesnt include screwing up my brand new parts to allow them to fit in a car that literally they are advertised to fit. also amain never responds to emails, like at all. Just a terrible experience for me. im sure the motor is great functionally but would be better suited in something that doesnt have a 2wd rear mounted motor. I dont live near a hobby store so to remedy this i cannot just "stop by the local shop" as the local shop is 345 miles from me.
Works great in my sct basher. Unfortunately I payed extra for 2 day shipping but amain did not have all of my order at one warehouse and wouldn't send in separate boxes so I had to wait 8 days for delivery. Glad I paid extra......
