Hot Bodies E819RS 1/8 4WD Electric Off-Road Buggy Kit is based on the successful E819 kit, and includes the latest development features from the HB Racing Team. An updated V3 rear shock tower allows racers to adjust the wing height and body mount height. Revised rear shock shafts and lower eyelets offer improved durability. A heavy duty aluminum center chassis brace is now included.

Up front are 17.5° caster blocks, now with M4 set screws for improved tightening and durability. Also included are steering blocks with 2° inclined kingpins that split the difference between the previous stock 0° blocks and the optional 4° blocks, along with Delrin steering block spacers. A heavy-duty servo saver has been added, utilizing a stronger spring and matching upper adjustment cap. Plus, screw-type shock pins feature standard & reverse threads, and are color coded for easy identification. The E819RS is now supplied with no body shell, reducing the price of the kit and giving racers the ability to choose the body they like best.

HB Racing E819RS 1/8 4WD Electric Off-Road Buggy Kit
Wow! What a kit!! I've been in the hobby for many years, and have built all sorts of race kits. This is the best racing kit/rig I've ever driven. I can't speak glowingly enough about how well this performs out of the box.

That being said, here's the couple of "gotchas" to watch out for when building this kit:

1. Shock Oil/Diff Oil
What's included in the kit is different than what's in the instructions and the base setup sheet is different than what's included AND what's in the instructions! Do yourself a favor and make sure you take a peek at the setup sheet before you order. You might need to buy some fluids to build it right.

2. Camber/Toe Link Measurements
They're wrong. Plain and simple. You'll have to change them once they're on the car. Not a huge deal but still a pain.

3. No 2000kv Motor
The bigger can will not fit. Must use a 1900kv size can for your motor.

4. Instructions are different than the base setup sheet
Again, consult the setup sheet as you do the build. I didn't, and had to go back in and move spacers and whatnot to get it all correct.

This is a FANTASTIC machine and I wouldn't let these few bad things steer you away. This is a top performer and winner right out of the box. Hands down the best 1/8 rig I've ever had. Hope this helps!

HB Racing E819RS 1/8 4WD Electric Off-Road Buggy Kit
I am an experienced builder and have built the following cars: RC8 3.2 and E, TLR 8ight Xe, MP10E, XB8E, MBX8 eco, and SRX8E. All of which I have owned and raced. I presently race TLR.

The HB seemed very enticing to me due to the layout design and well-thought engineering. During assembly this proved true. The precision of the parts is high. I did opt for Exotek steering linkage on the build along with a HW XR8 pro and matching 1900kv motor.

The manual is on par with a Mugen or Kyosho. Admittedly I feel that X-ray produces the best manual. The assembly of the car was faster than other cars I have built as the precision of the gearboxes and diffs required less shimming to set up properly. The whole car is very good quality and the assembly shows.

Where the car really shines is in on track, however. The car has tons of on-power steering and handles my rough outdoor local track better than all of my cars. It’s fast because it’s stable. In flight, the car is incredibly controllable and easily my best jump performer. The car has a slow speed push but it’s a fair trade given how well it performs on-power and over rough terrain.

The great aspect of the car is maintenance. Since the radio,, ESC, motor and servo are on the same side, you can tear this car down to clean in under 5 minutes. It’s by far the easiest of my cars to clean and maintain. For this reason I give the car very high marks.

Durability. The car has proven to be very durable on track for me. It’s taken some big hits and has never broken on track. The only issue I have is the chassis brace which connects the center diff stack to the front bulkhead. I have found numerous occasions where the nut has backed itself loose or I have bent a screw. This is due to chassis flex on hard landings. I keep spare hardware and am able to repair in between races as needed but the rod has never bent. I did have one rod end stretch on the bulkhead side so I would source spares just in case. I have a lot of spares for the car but so far I haven’t used anything in the year I’ve had it.

In summary the car continues to impress me and it always comes with me to the track. In fact, my local track buddies call it my “cheater” car because it is so dang fast and controllable. I have let buddies drive it and the common remark I hear is how “dialed in” it drives.

I am presently shopping an E-Truggy and it’s really hard between a HB and a TLR at this point. Looking at the HB it reminded me that I needed to respond in a review to how nice the E819RS really is.

If you are looking for a car that assembles easily, is durable and fast out of the box, I would strongly encourage this car.

HB Racing E819RS 1/8 4WD Electric Off-Road Buggy Kit
Its difficult to explain what this car does better. Because it does everything better. Running at DNC with all the TEAM drivers is amazing. The factory support is second to none. I own Tekno, Associated, Xray and have ran Kyosho, Mugen. All great cars but the HB-E819RS is just amazing and fits my driving style perfectly. I typically run mostly indoor 1/10 carpet. The in air control and corner speed is awesome. This buggy is stable, planted, predictable and just fast.
