Now made of Maker Foam! Our hope is that the Flite Test Sportster will be fun for both the beginner looking to get into four channel flight, and also the advanced looking to reenact all the classic barnstormer maneuvers from the past. This plane does not like to fly alone. Our hope is that this will be a design that friends build and fly together.
The FT Sportster is designed to fly off a 425 size motor. Our C motor coupled with a 2200 3 cell battery gives great performance and a nice flight time. The outer wing tips of the FT sportster are under campared so slow speed and stability are not compromised. This plane is able to turn on a dime and can handle many classic and advanced maneuvers. Remove the landing gear for an easy hand launch or find some smooth grass and do lazy touch and goes.

Fun airplane to fly! You won’t fly this as a beginner for sure but excellent entry into low wing airplanes. The nose tends to drop in a bank so some elevator will be needed to counter act this. Rudder May help as well but travel rates need to be increased on rudder some to get enough authority. Do yourself a favor on this one and set 50% rates starting out as she can be very quick to manuever. So far have pulled off loops, rolls, and stall turns no problem and due to larger wings she will also hover quite nicely in stronger winds :)

Flite Test Sportster Speed Build "Maker Foam" Electric Airplane Kit (990mm)
I love this plane! I did a scratch build using white foam board from the Dollar Tree and I bought the 9gram analog servos and 1180kv brushless motor from flite test and I am so happy with the results! This plane handles speed and wind really well and can also cruise slowly without fear of unwanted stalls. It is able to do super tight loops and this is my first foam plane to do extremely fast and tight rolls since my balsa wood, extra 360 stunt plane. Thank you Flite test for all of the great planes you offer to the community!
